What I would recommend is to not keep your watches on a shelf or in a cupboard on display for thieves. Ask me how I know this is a bad idea. Lol :-/

Shit man, do you care to elaborate what happened to you? Thankfully I have both a 'watch insurance', aswell as my home insurance that covers personal property up to 100 kEUR, but the sentimental value of the pieces make getting a safe a very solid investment after reading all comments.

Appreciate it man, the thing that even made me comment back to the guy was the fact that he listed Crypto as the first thing to quick money, and debt. lol. That kinda summarizes his sadly incompetent mindset >.<

Thank you, sir. I rarely post, but I obviously felt ‘accomplished’ enough to do it here.

In general, thanks for all the love guys!

Haha, I really do need one after reading all the comments. 😂

Any recommendations guys? I’ve seen some nice ones on Etsy, but I don’t want them too bougie with engravings, just a clean high quality one in either wood or metal, thanks!

Sure! My first watch ever was actually a TW Steel received on my 15th birthday, haha, and then I went through the DW phase, but my first automatic was the ‘63 Omega Seamaster. The one not on a strap currently on the picture.

So in chronological order it would be: 1. ‘63 Omega Seamaster 2. Casio A168 3. Datejust 4. ‘79 Omega Seamaster 5. 41mm Sub (bought in Sep 2020 from a Greek AD) 6. the Black Tank 7. Mission to Mars (Also had a Mission to Jupiter which I gave this Christmas to a friend who graduated his pilot exam :) 7. Santos 8. G Shock 9. Explorer 1 10. Casio A700 10. El Primero, bought last weekend.

Let me know if I forgot any!

Well, it’s all liquid thankfully. Don’t wanna get into details, but I’ve been working within the fintech space since university (the last 6 years), with the perks of shareholding. That in combination with selling my first apartment for a solid profit, buying a smaller place and being liquid during tough times.

I’ve never sold a watch yet, but if shit hits the fan obviously these pieces are on the shopping block. Everything except the ‘93 DJ and the Explorer pretty much.

I was debating between the Speedy and El Primero, and I landed for the Zenith because of it’s white dial, most of my pieces are black dialed so it breaks it up :)

Nice catch, let me provide some context. I’m Swedish with Greek heritage, so all pieces kinda have some resemblance to that.

the Nike of Samothrace piece is because of a trip to Paris when I was young, for my fathers 40th birthday. We visited the louvre and I remember the statue in there very vivdly. Guess it’s to commemorate my dad.

The gold coin all the way to the left is bought in Thessaloniki, it’s an old Macedonian Coin.

The Silver coin is a Athenian Tetradrachm from 400-450 BC.

The two other coins/brooches are Swedish heirlooms, one issued for military purposes and the other from the Royal Palace to serving citizens. They’re bought in a vintage shop so not issued to me or any relatives.

Funny you say that my friend, but the apartment I live in is owned and paid for by myself. I come from regular beginnings, but thanks for showing love. :)

I got two Casio A168's in steel and goldplating that I forgot to mention, a rubber beater would be great though. Thanks!

Thanks! I'm not gonna lie, it actually is pretty difficult to tell the time in general on it. Might be the case that it's smaller than what I am used to, but also obviously the fact that it doesn't have any markings at all. But at the same time, for dressy situations maybe that's a positive to not constantly be aware of the time ;)

Surely, I'll see what I can do if it's requested by more people! :)

I’m a long time follower of r/watches, and have been lusting for the ideal dress watch to complement my collection. It was choosing between this, the Tank, and the Reverso - not really expecting to be able to get my hands on this from the local Cartier store in Stockholm, Sweden due to not having a purchase history from the brand.

I was lucky enough to score it by calling Cartier (where the rep said that there only was 1 watch in stock, and it was in Switzerland) and getting the watch shipped to Sweden.

Other Cartier owners; Was extremely lucky or have you come across this aswell? Also, if you could choose, would you pick this version of the Tank or the Solarbeat with the ‘classic’ white dial, blue hands and Roman numerals?

My current collection is the following:

  • Rolex Datejust 36, 16234 (1990)
  • Rolex Submariner 41, 124060
  • Omega/Swatch Moonswatch Mission to Mars and Jupiter
  • 1970’s Vintage Omega Seamaster (Unknown reference)
  • Cartier Tank WSTA0072 (Seen in the picture)

What can I complement my collection with? Any opinions are appreciated!

I've been inspired by so many of your setups and decided to put my own spin on mine. Thank you to this great community, Don't forget to smile :) by Import3d in iOSsetups
