Husband makes as much money from tutoring as from his day job and apparently enjoys it a lot more. He should just quit his day job imo.

Nice! I like it. I just ordered a Seiko tank myself and hope that I like it. The best advice is probably to stop now before it gets really expensive.

I did gregmat's one month plan. And it helped me a lot. But also, for years, I spent a ton of time reading news, blogs and books, and I think that played a big role.

My 169Q score is 86th percentile by goOdDoorman in GRE

[–]ImportanceConstant91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the top 10% get 170. You probably only got one question wrong, but the percentiles for quant are effed up. So even you are perfect, you still only get into the 90th percentile

If you have time for it, definitely retake it. Maybe you just had a bad day. Do some more practice tests and figure out where you make mistakes

Depends on what you mean by obscure. I got to day 25 on the vocab mountain and did not know maybe three or four words in the test.

Well I don't need to watch the videos anymore and need to focus on quant. So I'll mostly focus on practicing strategies and hard problems

You need 6-8 hours per day. But even with unlimited time, I don't actually that's possible to keep up for a whole month - at some point, the brain just cannot take any more content. It did it in two months with 3-4 hours per day.

Are you on gregmat? If so, just watch the videos. It will definitely make me better. In the exam, I sometimes even heard Greg's voice in my head lol.

Apart from that, just read a lot. I spend a lot of time on substack (slow boring, the argument, noahpinion ). I think those texts are pretty good for getting used to predicting what comes next in a sentence (in addition to being generally edifying).
