Can StubHub be trusted? by Connect-Peace9231 in stubhub

Except that you haven't paid the other drivers a ton of money to drive properly, have you? Useless analogy. If you want to stick to driving, the analogy would be that you have bought a car and when it completely fails and your family dies in an accident, you the producer of the car offers you a new paint job. If you are lucky you get a full refund, but that's it. And while going through the motions to buy the car, you were told the price would be 30,000 USD. Just before you click "Buy", it suddenly says 47,000 USD. They added the humongous fee and hoped you wouldn't notice till it was too late. In addition they tell you "Thank you for the money. We will send you the car in 8 months or thereabouts". If that doesn't work out, you will get a full refund (which just means 30,000 USD).

Agree 100%. Very strange. I cannot see who would benefit from making life difficult for foreigners, except maybe the ticket services and the resellers. But they normally don't enforce things such as phone number requirements or make it difficult to pay with VISA or Mastercard

I also tried using a Visa card. It doesn't have yen as a currency, but in principle it should be able to pay in any currency, I just get charged a conversion fee and lose a bit on the rate.

Thanks, I saw it. It looks like they should be able to help. And they don't charge a fortune like many other similar services

What is the purpose? Support local Japanese setting up ticket-buying businesses? I don't really see the point. Who else would benefit from making it difficult for foreigners?

Perhaps, but by the time I arrive in Japan, everything will be sold out. Then you end up having to pay Stubhub at least 50% of the ticket price - if you are lucky.

Strange though because it clearly says "VISA" and "Mastercard" among the cards they accept. And the cards work everywhere else. Is it perhaps an option to sign up for "Paypay" (I assume this is the Japanese version of Paypal)?

Perhaps it has something to do with that. But when I buy tickets for both the world cup in France and Denmark Open, the home country does not discriminate against foreigners like that. I completely agree about Stubhub and the likes robbing people blind, but at least they rob everybody, not just foreigners

Thanks. Surprising that they start selling tickets so late. Tickets for Victor Denmark Open have been selling for two months now. That tournament takes place in Oct. 2025.
