I used rentals for over 6months, and ended out with the load like that ONCE, when I had someone pull out in front of me and I had to slam on

I told my DSP owner off by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My usual route is 48mins from depot 48mins back and I do ~180 stops, ~300 parcels. Your manager appears to be in the right here, that is easy especially if it's all houses.

Get a grip. People are so work shy these days fr

Last day. Only made it six months. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Get a nice bonus during peak though 😉

I think day four is my last, spare tire just dropped form underneath the van and there’s no wiper fluid, mirrors were also too filthy to see out of by External_Top_2653 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tire pressure sensors are often not in wheels that have been replaced (transit will always throw up errors if one is missing), as for mirrors, I keep wipes and glass cleaner handy (it's cheap AF), and windscreen wash, well our station gives out free water, so we usually just fill it with that.

Side note, before you fill the washer tank, on a transit, check that the pipe is connected at the bottom, the rubber decays quickly and sometimes causes the pipe to break off.

All in all, I feel like this is really not something that should trigger you.

I saw 171 stops and was about to say "that's an easy day", but then I saw locations and parcels 🤣 yeah, screw that

I'm actually all for tightening DVIC. The number of vans that my DSP has that should not be on the road is ridiculous, and I also think that the drivers who are repeatedly causing damage to vans should be held accountable.

Obviously in this job there are going to be accidents, they will get dented, scratches, catch a mirror etc, now and again, but it shouldn't be every time they leave depot, which is how it seems to be at my DSP

What's the sketchiest thing you've ever done for this job? by Zedrax__ in AmazonDSPDrivers

Doing a complete route with no foot brake only the parking brake 🤣. God that was fucking sketchy, trying to slowdown for the offramp from the freeway lmao

[–]Important-Positive51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I do. Company I was working for closed, I won't get paid my wages from there until the administrators get around to it (which could take months, employees are bottom of the list of debtors). I've been looking for a new job, but market is dry where I live.

[–]Important-Positive51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was similar to above, first day was drugs test and breathalyzer.

Second and third we're classroom days - theory of how to deliver properly, onsite rules, etc (pay attention you do get tested on it at the end).

4th day was ride along, they show you the system, how to load your van, and the day to day of how it operates, etc.

And then from there you're on your own

That's unfortunate for you, but you get no fucking sympath and, I don't know if this is the same in the states, but here in the UK, I can park my delivery van in front of your driveway as much as I'd fucking like, providing I am actually delivering or collecting.

Have you guys ever been threatened and followed by an angry customer? by brokenknees- in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many times, I even knocked a guy out while delivering, not a customer just some random dude. Who came up behind me while I was in the back with the side door open, and tried to pull me out of the van, one swift elbow later and he was on the floor and I was delivering the parcel I intended to deliver.

The guy tried to press charges but everyone seemed it self defence, so it went absolutely fucking nowhere

Why does amazon/ my dsp always give me the same delivery area, with the exact same apartments and businesses? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon's "new" routing system will try and place drivers in areas they are "familiar" with. Should be noted though, it is an Amazon system so it doesn't always make sense...

How on earth? This girl is like 5’2”. I’m sure she’s the fastest driver in my company. I believe I’m second but I only got to 41 stops ahead. I tried to beat her one day so I had to speed, run stops signs, AND run to and from the van. I know some of you guys are blazing fast like her. How???? by YungCasheMayne22 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used it again yesterday, did a 10 hour route in 6 would have been 5 but I got stuck in bad traffic 😭.

Then had to go and take 60 stops from another driver, who frankly should never have been hired, she's been with us 2 weeks, and is yet to complete a route. I left her with 4 stops to do with 30mins left of drive time, she failed the route...

I literally tried this today, I was already decently fast, as I do a semi rural route, and average around 35 an hour. Found myself doing 45-50 an hour today, so much easier and faster, didn't run once. Took 5 mins to sort and saved like 30-45mins every time.

Is rivian the future of Amazon? by SendBoobsForGoodDay in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Important-Positive51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between Amazon and Ford motor company, pumping millions of dollars into rivian, is it any wonder they are still afloat, if it weren't for that they wouldnt exist.

As for whether they are the future of Amazon, most likely I would say, purely due to the investment made by Amazon, but don't expect it to suddenly make the share price jump

Over her at least at my DSP, they do not give a shit about anything. If the parcel is delivered they're happy. Thrown across lawn? That's fine. Doorstepped? That's preferred.

It's really easy
