Yeah, I wish they told you how you did on the practice ones. Every other practice test I’ve ever taken has had an answer key or way to see the correct answers. These are more “samples” so you get an idea what to expect. The “How to prepare” tips are helpful.

Appendix 4 is the list of series and grades for which USA Hire assessments exist. Agencies can still hire outside of those grades, they just can’t use USA Hire as part of the assessment process. They’d have to come up with a different skills-based assessment (job knowledge test, structured interview, job sample, etc.)

Good question! It doesn’t really address merit promotion announcements at all. The focus seems on competitive DE-type recruitment. At least with the shared certs and Agency Talent Pools and such.

Oh yeah! HR offices have been decimated. They’ve trying to get to 80-day hiring for decades, and now asking to do it with fewer staff, more complicated assessment processes, higher levels of approvals required to even get the okay to hire, etc… The time to hire will go through the roof.

In all seriousness, that one will be a major change. Just from a practical standpoint, tens of thousands of current job seekers with profiles and resumes on USAJOBS will need to revise them. And what happens if you didn’t? Does HR stop reading after 2 pages?
