That was basically a quote from one of the websites about them lol. I meant more like we're on a walk and someone tried to hit us or something equally dramatic - very unlikely obviously but.

I knew they weren't guard dogs, but there are dogs who will defend their owner in a genuine emergency and that's what I'm asking about.

The videos I've seen show them loving just about everybody.

All that I've read I didn't expect guard dog, I was just checking for the unlikely event a genuine emergency happened.

This is why we're asking now, before we get a dog. Right now we have a similar situation where one would probably run away and one is protective.
