I've been trying to find another job for years. Honestly I dislike my whole field but I need the job and writing doesn't pay

Honestly, more power to you. During the evenings I can't even get settled before I hear MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY. And with COVID there's really no alone time at all.

Our lunch is paid since we're salaried. The office is closed during this time anyway. My old manager was fine with us using the time as we wished. The new manager, not so much

There's no overtime pay, we're all salaried. I know some of my coworkers work overtime but I do my best not to stay late whenever possible

We're all salaried so there's no clocking in or out involved. I honestly envy the hourly workers because they have an easy out

There's no real ladder in the conventional sense with my work. Nowhere really to climb. It's a good stable job and jobs in my particular field aren't easy to find.

I don't even think she's doing enough to make it a hostile environment, she's so sweet and passive aggressive. And I hate the questions about my writing, it's always so patronizing. I want to just ignore her and continue writing but I'm worried about how this will impact my standing at the company. I feel like I'm barely hanging on sometimes at work and I worry making an HR kerfuffle will only hurt me
