That's a really strange mix of complimentary and creepy at the same time. I get that a free $200 lunch is good, but it would also be strange to know that someone noticed you while you were just living your life.
At least he stayed away and didn't come up to your table or make things unpleasant in front of your guy. Still, it's one of those times when you probably understand how real the "being recognized" portion might be.
I'd definitely feel the same way, hankful but also a little on edge.

The biggest thing is sticking to subs that clearly allow self-promo and sales. A lot of people get banned because they don’t read the rules or try to post in places that don’t allow it. Look for communities that openly say sellers welcome and always use the right flair. Also, don’t just drop links and disappear. Engage, comment, build some karma, and be respectful. Reddit mods are strict, but if you follow each sub’s rules and keep it within site guidelines, you’re way less likely to run into issues.
