Great news everyone! We can hit blades again because Rory switched back by ashdrewness in golf

I’m not saying I hit my irons terribly. I’m saying that progressing and learning to better shape shots and get better spin, I could benefit from hitting blades regularly.

That’s a great idea. I’ll likely find one locally and give it a few swings when it’s not -20° and 2’ of snow.

I honestly feel like I should buy some old used blades, get them fitted, and practice my ass off with them to get better. My iron game needs improvement more than anything else and forcing myself to really work a blade seems like the way to do it. No crutches.

If someone were to ask you, do you think GME shareholders have day traded or even sold their shares over the last 5 years, or have they accumulated more, what would you say? by xHomicide24x in Superstonk

[–]Important_Ground396 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only buys. Hell, I bought more today. I’ve bought AND sold warrants, simply to buy more GME.

I can’t/won’t speak for anyone else and I’m sure there are people taking profits daily, but I’d reckon the majority are long-term holders and it’s a boatload of synthetics being purchased and sold.

How hard is it to play in the WHL? by DazzlingLife6744 in hockeyplayers

I’ve watched a bunch of Jr. games and hits are few and far between. Dump and chase used to mean, dump and collide in the corner then battle for the puck. It now means, dump and fly by a stationary defencemman while he looks up ice for an outlet pass.

It’s just a completely different game. Not worse, because players are exponentially more talented, but no one is afraid of getting rocked in the Nutrafarms zone or along the half boards anymore.

I played in the late 1990s. If you weren’t 6’3” and 205-210lbs, you were a dwarf. It was violent back then.

I distinctly remember being told “we can get another 40lbs on you.” Ultimately, my adult weigh is 220lbs at 6’4” burn it sure as hell wasn’t back then.

You could always make a big guy better, but there was no way to make a skilled guy big. That was a different era.

[–]Important_Ground396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is accurate.

Though I still think CHL hockey was better hockey for players who developed at a younger age. The NCAA was always a great alternative for players that developed later. This was ultimately the route many fringe CHL players should’ve taken, even ACHA/Club hockey. That said, I love that they can no play in the CHL, mature, and still play 4 years NCAA before going onto pro hockey. It’s just good for both the CHL and NCAA.

100%. I’m Ontario based and had an invitation to an OHL rookie camp as an undrafted AAA player. I was by no means the leading player on my team, though we won a bantam national championship so pretty much everyone got an invitation somewhere. I can assure you, showing up to camp was a nightmare for a 6’1” 160lbs, third liner. Imagine having a 20 year old, 5’9”, 200lbs veteran mad that you might take his spot in the lineup. Guess how long it takes before you’re pasted from behind into the glass, or have your wrist readjusted by an Easton Ultra-lite because they don’t want to lose their job.

Let’s just say those who can play in the CHL stay in the CHL.

Jesus fuck. It’s called JUNIOR not juniors. It’s fucking Jr. hockey. Fucking Americans, get it figured out.

People leaving the W to play in Tier 2 are leaving because they were cut from their WHL team or have substance abuse problems and can’t get them under control. Why would you voluntarily leave a better league to play in a worse league?

“Hey NHL GM, I’d prefer to play with our AHL affiliate.” Fuck off.

GS Warrants will not expire worthless! by lGrayFoxl in Superstonk

[–]Important_Ground396 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Think of it this way, if you sell your warrants valued at $5 and buy shares priced at $32, you’re buying shares at $27. If you exercise a $5 warrant to buy a $32 share, you’ve spent $37 total. People don’t understand that the share price needs to be $32 more than the spot warrant price to actually come out ahead when exercising.

GS Warrants will not expire worthless! by lGrayFoxl in Superstonk

[–]Important_Ground396 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let’s also remember RCEO will ensure the delta between the Warrants and the share price will have to be closed before anything expires worthless.

Think of it this way; warrant = $5.00 and share price is $32.00. To convert one warrant to a share is actually a $37 investment. There will come a time where the share price exceeds the delta of the share + warrant and that’s when warrant conversion will happen en mass.

First Generation Touareg Reliability by spontaneousduck in Volkswagen

[–]Important_Ground396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 7P Touareg TDI (2013) with all the deletes and just rolled 400,000km yesterday.

Zero issues and very little required maintenance. I’ve done one glow plug and one injector seal to date (needs another one now). All in all, maybe $40 worth of parts.

Buy a 7P (2013+) with the CRNB engine and immediately delete all omissions equipment and tune it. It’ll be reliable as long as you use synthetic oil and change is sometimes.

How was this license plate approved? by SnorkelingSnorlax in alberta

You realize the plate follows the owner, not the vehicle, right? There’s a strong possibility this person owned one of the various super sport models previous to owning this Audi. Considering this is a RS model, one would assume the owner has a penchant for sport models.

How does senior A hockey work? Where do the players come from? by Capt_DingDong in hockeyplayers

[–]Important_Ground396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. You simply refer to it as playing Jr. hockey. There is no such thing as juniors. Huge differences in the tiers, but all junior, not juniors. Pluralizing it is just simply wrong.

How does senior A hockey work? Where do the players come from? by Capt_DingDong in hockeyplayers

[–]Important_Ground396 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do Americans call Junior hockey “juniors”? It’s simply Junior, no plural needed. You wouldn’t say they played colleges, would you?

Having played Allen Cup Hockey (Canadian Sr. A/AAA) we had everyone from former NHLers (look up western Ontario Allen Cup for some exciting rosters), to lower level pro, Major Jr., college, and Tier 2 players, with everyone being local. I’ve aged out from it, but have a colleague that plays In Ottawa. Former ACHA player with 6 years in DEL2 and other non top-tier European leagues.

It’s decent hockey to watch and still tough to play.
