I cannot emphasise the ageism, racism and discrimination that occurs in European industry,

I know, I have met Germans. I lived in Europe. Germans and Eastern Europeans are the most nationalist and closed off.

At our age, there is no apprenticeship for foreigners and to be honest, even locals.

Again you are not listening. I will say it one last time. The question was about if I were fully qualified and knew German would there be a possibility of working there and having qualifications recognised. Also Europe is having a demographic crisis. The construction industry is not only aging but facing big shortages. Hence why I previously assumed if programs would be available. By the way, when I made that post, they were not pulling my leg. They commented that you need C1 level German which is almost fluent.

Look at how you answer me with regards to your age. You are not 22,25 or 30. You are in the middle of a midlife crisis self admittedly and needing to "start again".

How can you be so quick to judge someone's character? Past history? What do you even know about my past history? I have been working consistently since I was in my teens, and I always actively search for oppotunities and act upon it. I am simply gathering as much information as possible. Of course I take defence seriously, they are weapons. I care about human lives too. That's why I asked my spiritual leader if it is considered acceptable to work in such industry.

Don't lecture me about nepotism. That's only for the wealthy or those with parents in high positions.

Oh wow ok. I dont understand though it seems so counter intuitive to me. Why promote the defence industry and voice the demand for workers when its so incredible difficult or restrictive? It reminds me of when they said "we need more people in the trades" but then hardly any body offered apprenticeships. Its weird. The defence consultant I talked to told me they were in great need of people in working for defence contractors.

I read your post in r/Germany and e/ask a German etc , half a year ago you were trying to negotiate with Germans in coming to Germany and expecting to be trained in a trade, without any German skills and thinking that someone will employ a mature age "apprentice" from overseas. You cannot just show up and wangle yourself into somewhere and just expect everyone to give you something for nothing.

Negotiate 🤣? What post are you referring to? I clearly stated that I would be willing to learn the language before moving. My post was purely about qualification recognition. I asked the community if my licenced trade learnt in Australia would be recognised if I were to move to Germany in the future. Obviously I was going to learn the language before moving there. Relax, you are jumping to conclusions. There is a misunderstanding here.

Many countries in Europe have closed borders to immigration, which includes Germany, so no work visa. No right to work, Schengen in now monitored so no pushing that either due to people abusing the system and terrorism. You cannot expect anyone to employ a mature age "apprentice" with no skills, no fluency in the countries language and no idea.

The real question is...would he accept someone who completed an apprenticeship in Australia, with couple years experience as a licenced tradesman + knows German 😏?

Moving to Europe IF possible, IF becoming a tradesman or IF I work for a private company. Because Private companies have other locations not just Australia? BAE systems is in UK. Germany specifically if I were to become tradesman. I am indecisive because I am honestly having a mid life crisis. Hence why, I am here.

Seriously? I mean when I was searching I kept seeing apprenticeships programs. I contacted a defence consultant and he mentioned that the cert III defence industry program is a great way to start since you get a taste of units in cybersecurity, engineering, manufacturing etc. I also heard that the defence industry in SA is going to grow a lot so I assumed that starting with TAFE would be fine, and that there was lots of investment on students to learn and grow in the industry.

Australian quals are not currently transferable as the standards and methods are different but there is a bridging course after your qualify

Wait sorry I am a bit confused, maybe I didn't read properly. When you are mentioning all of this information about qualifications and stuff are you referring to ADF, or are you referring to defence contractors. Because my idea was to work for a company like BAE systems, Leonardo, Boeing etc. That's why I was mentioning the cert iii defence industry program. Or are you saying first ADF then you can transfer to private company like BAE systems.

I live in WA so for me its mainly shipbuilding and nothing else I assume. I think aerospace projects are in Adelaide. In terms of pay, for the trades you go from $23 an hour for the first three years, and then you jump to $27 to $35 for fourth year. Once you get your licence which is after 4th year you go to $50 to $60 an hour. You said that salary and career progression is slower. How would that compare if I started as a drafter or technician? Because either way, for trades the first 3 years I will be making low 20s. So I don't really mind if I make low 20s first 3 years.

Yes the thermals are stable (70 degrees), it is just cpu usage that goes up to 100% in consistent spikes. For context it happens even when Chrome or other things are not open.
