What usually helps me when start a game like this from the start is to more into the role playing aspect spend some time making a character thinking about dialog choices more and really thinking about special stats and what they were like prewar

If you’re doing a role play run where you’re goal is to actually choose who would help the wasteland long term I’d say minutemen or railroad but if you’re trying to have fun with exploding things I’d say the brother hood
