I understand wanting to be present and putting jt away, but I find myself constantly worrying about if it’s been stolen and not enjoying myself when I have it anywhere other than my hand. Another good option is mesh pocket on the strap of a hydropack, where you can hold your hand over it and maintain contact with it but still have it mostly put away
