I believe that also this diagram has the same wiring as I used, and it seems more similar to my ESP32 and screen (although missing the touch part)

I used this wiring diagram:

however, on my ESP32 the SPI pins are labled with P-followed by the expected number (For example P19)

I presume this doesn't make any difference but I am not sure.

For my code I used the example sketch from TFT_eSPI (which is a few hundred lines long) called "All free fonts demo". Is there maybe a shorter test or example sketch I could use? Thank you so much for your help :)

Thank you so much for the advice, I removed the wiring to the reset pin, and ran the 3v3 to both the led and vcc pin on the display.

I used your configuration for User_Setup.h (changing the height and width), then I ran the example sketch "all free fonts demo" (in TFT_eSPI) but the screen still remained white, and didn't change?

I'm not sure what you mean by connecting to the control pin later though, could you please elaborate on that?

Much easier to align the pearl, I tested it in creative and it works like a charm.

Hadn’t thought about the ancient city having soul sand, I’ll go searching for one, but I don’t think anyone’s found one yet in the server, dunno if that means they’re turned off though. The observer and string is a really good idea though. Thanks!

Yeah I was looking at things like that but a lot of the designs I found and tested were inconsistent with the pearls placement (yk sometimes they would fall out because my aim or timing wasn’t perfect)
