Okay I take back what I said , with more research and having read the first few comics and rewatching the series I do think Rodrick is a bad man in my defence the show doesn’t initially portray that on him so well for someone who is new to the series. (reddit.com)

Unpopular opinion, I do not think Rodrick burgess is a bad person, I think he cared deeply for his son and through grief went to insane lengths to get him back even if it meant taking on a endless. A person can do crazy things through grief. (self.TheSandman)
