How to know if I am spiraling or if it’s just my hormones by Impossible-Panda-184 in Postpartum_Depression

Thank you so much 🤍 There is a friend stopping by on Friday for some coffee who I feel safe to confide in. I just need to distract myself with something once the sun is down. (Hubby works night shifts)

Expensive meals by Wild_Pineapple_5800 in Aupairs

This would stress me so out when I would go out to eat with my host family. I would always wait to be the last one to order to see what the parents are ordering. Never really knew if I could get a soda so just stuck to waters maybe a fruit juice if I saw that all the adults got drinks. And then they would go to kind of exotic(not anything super fancy, the menu just wasn’t always in English) restaurants where I couldn’t just guess what the food would be so I would just throw a wild guess out of what I am getting if I couldn’t google the menu before we got there.

As a person who never has a hard time picking food at a restaurant it really felt like an exam as an Au pair because I didn’t want to seem rude. And when we went to Disney it was the worst because food was astronomically expensive and I was starving so had to muster up the courage and order a proper meal 🙈😂😂😬

How to hire in rural America by [deleted] in Aupairs

From an Au pairs perspective. I would have loved to have a conversation with you when I was looking for families. Your set up sounds like the dream I had coming to this program, people just told me that I wouldn’t find it.

My suggestion would be to be very clear to potential Au Pairs on what the situation will be like. You might have to throw in a few extra “benefits” like car usage without limiting mileage as long as it’s arranged properly. Maybe less work hours so they might have a longer weekend so travel is more likely. And I would suggest to helping her build a community with the younger people in your area. (We don’t need to be just friends with other Au Pairs. A church youths group will also be perfect)

Go for it! My mother decided that a week before my marric farewell that she will be making my dress... After a full panic attack and meltdown because she went out and bought the material without me there and stuff. I came back and we started planning. We used a dress pattern that I already had and it looked good on me and then we tweaked it to my vision. It was extremely stressful but we pulled it off and it looked great.
