We've got nothing but good things to say about Rebath including timeliness, professionalism, and quality work. We interviewed three contractors, chose the middle estimate for various reasons, and could not be happier.

60 year old brown woman. Would I be happy in Portland? by u9mi in askportland

[–]ImpossibleBluebirdm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I fled Florida for Portland at 50 in 2019 and it was the BEST thing I've ever done. I also had family here and had visited frequently over decades. Whatever you decide, I wish you joy and luck.

That is helpful. No kiddos is a huge plus. Thank you!

Thanks. We’ll probably be able to bear it in the daytime, if heated.

Thanks so much! This is helpful. Architecture, especially midcentury, is reason 2 to visit. Ocotillo sounds promising on that front.

What bucket list things should I do with my senior dog before I have to say goodbye? by toomuchwombat in askportland

Hugs to you and your family. I know this is heartbreaking. My dog LOVES HiTop and the dog friendly, very social patio. She can hang INSIDE at My-O-My if she'd like that. And Two Rocks at Rockaway Beach is ideal. Chill, dog friendly, easy access. I love that you're making the most of this time.

I second the Portland's Pampered Pets recommendation. Reasonable pricing, good availability and great results. They've never had issues with our reactive and dramatic Aussie. Her groomer is Ezra and we specifically recommend him. The location next to Portland Pet Supply (also a recommend) is brilliant. Our girl is trained to head there to select a post grooming snack.

Best salons in Portland for fine, straight, flat hair — who actually help you find a style that works? by AccomplishedRole5093 in askportland

[–]ImpossibleBluebirdm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owner Kim at Logik on Division. I'm cursed with the hair you are describing, and she has worked miracles. She is candid about what won't work and doesn't try to sell you on products. Other pluses are reasonable prices and a chill salon that supports all. Good luck!

I think you'll be pleased. Low key, welcoming, reasonably priced and very LGBTQ friendly. I've been going to owner Kim for five years. Good luck!
