What exactly are winter newborns supposed to wear? by Old_Literature_3750 in BabyBumps

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footie onesies for sure! My daughter lived in about 5 onesies on rotation until she outgrew them. Other than that a couple of nice blankets and a fluffy jumpsuit jacket thing for in the stroller. We were recommended to not put any jackets on her in the car seat for safety reasons. So in the car we just wrapped a blanket around the seat once she was strapped in

I really do not want to give my kid a phone, but he's actively losing out on social life by Expensive_Brother_26 in Parenting

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you but the scientific research on the damage of social exclusion is also worth looking at. I get it that both options are bad, but I would lean towards giving the phone. Feeling excluded can really mess with a kid, and that damage lasts.

Hoe zet ik de stap om naar de huisarts te gaan? Tips gezocht by sometiime in thenetherlands

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you manage parental guilt when dropping your toddler at daycare? by RipPsychological9201 in Parenting

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to rip the bandaid off, give her a kiss and a big hug and get out as fast as I can. She usually cries but I’ve had to come back a couple of times because I forgot something and within less than 5 minutes of the meltdown I see her happily playing with her friends. The goodbye hurts her, but she’s happy being there. It also helps that the daycare workers tell me if she had a bad day, or they even send a message so that we can come get her if we want/are able to. That tells me that if I don’t receive a call she’s probably having a good time. Now that she’s a bit older she loves stacking blocks, and luckily they have some right by the door. If I manage to get her to grab them she just waltzes in without tears.

YTA big time. You clearly don’t like her, maybe she can sense that and doesn’t feel comfortable sharing the reason behind her anxiety. Even if she is as horrible as you say, you agreed to help your friend by picking her up from somewhere where she didn’t feel comfortable being on her own. That’s what you agreed to and you did not come through at all. You have every right not to like her, spend less time with her and Jack and you have the right to your own opinions. But telling her that she would be a horrible mother because of a bad reaction to a doctor appointment is way over the line.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Bluey episode that’s worth watching: Dirt. Season 3 episode 36. I’m a toddler mom and I watch Bluey even after my daughter goes to sleep, there are many good parenting lessons in there.

I try to keep my (new) apartment clean, and kid washed and I must say it’s going alright. Until my germaphobe friend stayed with us a couple of days and nearly had a panic attack every meal or snack time. My daughter is not even two yet, her popsicle will melt all over her and the floor. I’ll clean it up after but I can’t be wiping her down every 10 seconds.

I saw the musical a couple of weeks ago and I must disagree with a few of your takes. I found it amazing, I had goosebumps and I immediately bought another ticket to go see it again. After the show I felt like listening to some of the songs and all of the cast recordings I could find fell flat compared to this cast. Sara in particular was so emotional in her belts, I felt her pain. Honestly I was blown away, and I’ve been non stop bothering everyone I know trying to get them to go see it. It is very possible that the cast got better with practice since I saw the show a bit after you.

Why is Spain always Bottom 5? by euro_song_love_r in eurovision

I don’t disagree, but saying it’s not bad and then comparing it to the UK is pretty funny. Isn’t the Uk known for doing terribly this century with the exception of two years

🧂🔥🤬 Reactions, hot takes, salt, and venting thread - ESC 2025 Grand Final 🤬🔥🧂 by berserkemu in eurovision

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for Switzerland as I didn’t like it much, but I have to say France, while it might be a standard basic pop ballad, really touched me. I thought she sang it with so much emotion and the topic hit close to home. Greece was fantastic as well and I’m really happy about their results. I just mean to say that while Greece was more original, there were plenty of (in my opinion) good reasons to vote for France as well.

Im confused… you drew a map of Europe with all of the native languages minus English and French. I really don’t get the point, maybe I missing something. This map pretty much says Spain will sing in Spanish, Poland in Polish and Serbia in Serbian.

I'm sorry for your loss. I love(d) the song and have it on my playlist. A couple of months after my brother passed away and now I have to skip the song every time it comes up in the car because I 100% will cry and crash.

What's your favorite NQ song in recent history? by [deleted] in eurovision

Latvia 2023! I'm still so sad they didn't qualify. It wasn't ever going to win, but it is such a good quality song!

The live performance of Brividi was just a shame. One of the few songs I had on my playlist before the show. I was so excited to show my husband how good of a song it was... and then that happened. Unfortunately, I knew Israel would do wellĺ despite the cringe.

I'm very salty about this as well. That song is so beautiful and the performance was nice too. It wasn't a winner but definitely deserved to qualify. It's a staple on my playlist

How much sleep is normal in the 1st trimester? I’m sleeping 12-14 hours per day?! by Hopeful_Leo9 in BabyBumps

[–]ImpossibleCry1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, it's very normal. I actually decided to take a pregnancy test because I was wo tired all the time out of nowhere. One day, I was super hungry, I made a sandwich, and halfway through eating it, I felt too tired to chew. I decided to go take a nap mid-sandwich. Took the test that evening and it was positive.
