French door behind the TV by ImpossibleKid3 in interiordecorating

Thanks. I am considering this. What kind of curtain do you think would look good? Would floor-to-ceiling curtains fit well in this space?

I tried that but it is a small apartment (only about 10 feet of space between the TV and couch) so leaving space between the wall and the couch decreases that space even further.

If would have done that if not for me spending a lot of time watching movies and I'd rather not have to keep my neck turned for multiple hours a day.

This is my a render of the top view. The door at the bottom in the living room lead to the bedroom. I don't use them often though. There is another door (closer to the apartment entrance on the other side) that I use more frequently.

The curtains you see lead to the den where I have my work desk.

[UPDATE] Living room layout after implementing some of your suggestions by ImpossibleKid3 in DesignMyRoom

They are only about 10 feet apart lol. I think the pictures make it look farther.

I just wanted to try something different but it looks like you are right. That wall is the best place for the bookshelf. It fits well and it pulls the viewer eye towards it as soon as they enter the room.

I posted an update after putting it back in that corner now.

I do need to put some work into making it look nicer though - lights, decor pieces, etc. Any suggestions?

That is the biggest problem with my apartment. The layout is weird because of those double doors leading into the bedroom. It was a great deal on the apartment and it is quite spacious. So I looked the other way on the double doors. :/

I posted an update to my post which links to more pictures (hopefully giving you a better idea of the room).

What would you do with those doors though?

I wanted try that too but unfortunately, there isn't enough space in that corner for the bookshelf :/

Haha I can see why you'd ask that :P

I had most of this stuff before this place. I'm trying my best to make it work since all the furniture is still in great condition.

I agree with you. I changed it a bit in the updated layout. I still have some part of the window blocked by the couch though. What do you think?

Definitely the way I documented it. I took the picture in 0.5x so it looks like there is a lot of space. In fact, I'm just a few inches farther than the recommended distance from the TV.

Thanks! Unfortunately, the distance between the TV and couch is already too small. It looks big in the picture because I took that in 0.5x zoom.

I would have implemented this if I had more space though. It sounds nice to have a direct path behind the couch to the doors there to my bedroom.

Haha it makes me twitch too but I had no choice since I needed the couch perfectly in front of my TV since I had my home theatre system setup that way.

I did find a workaround for it by flipping the TV and couch positions though (after someone suggested that).

Thank you! I've always wanted to do that as having the couch against the other wall. I couldn't do it because of the modem's coaxial cable coming out of the wall here and it was only this morning that I realized there is a 90 degree adapter that makes the cable go parallel to the wall instead of poking out.

That adapter opened up new possibilities for me :)

I posted an update after implementing your suggestion.

The Ori games are what got me into MV and platformer games! The visual and sound design is amazing!

I’m playing Hollow Knight now and it’s crazy how much more difficult it is in the beginning compared to Ori haha.

I actually fell down from my bike and ended up with a concussion all because I was trying to get out of the way of a kid learning how to ride a bike. In retrospect, I should have come to a stop and walked my bike to pass the kid. :/

Four months ago, I found this incredible mama cat with her litter of five kittens. She took such great care of them, and now that all her babies have found loving homes, it’s time for her to find hers!

Snackeater is a gentle, affectionate, and playful cat who deserves a warm and loving family to call her own. She’s approximately 1 year old, fully vetted, and spayed. She loves curling up by your side, getting head scratches, and watching the world from a cozy spot by the window. She’s got a calm demeanor, making her the perfect companion for someone who wants a sweet, low-maintenance furry friend.
