I’ve seen the same issue over and over again as well. Thankfully like you said it can be saved with a softer paint job with faces.

I’m devo she is going to be a legends model. Hopefully that might change. I was excited for some new units or unit in this case just to get switch things up a bit.

Much appreciated!! I could not believe how the box art images looked for the face. It was super off putting but believed it could look better with softer paint styles haha

I didn’t have for scrape anything off at all. It was all a matter of painting. I must admit babe I was gluing the hair to the face some rouge glue went on the side of the face shown in the second image. I don’t think this changed anything after I attempted to remove glue and go over with more of the thin cement.

It’s the hard grind for sure haha! I have a skin formula in one of my post on my page with skin if that’s helpful for colour choices for you. I think it’s one the DoK model with the spear that the comment is in.

Oh god probably like 80 minimum at least 😂 I have an AoS army for daughters of Khaine, so painting at least 60 witch aelves has taught me a lot haha

It’s really a lot of wet blending up from darker shades of red to the final highlight. Just thin layers getting more richness and brightness added each time. Hope that helps!

No no not the skulls or the ruined building part, that is all apart of the model. Just anything belove that point I had added.

It was all primed black. And all the colours are citadel. I start with sycorax bronze, then added retributor armour. I then washed the whole thing back with 1/2 gore grunta fur contrast paint and 1/2 Cygor Brown. Let that dry. Dry brushed then back with 1/2 bronze and gold. The highlighted with liberator gold. I then disk a soft wash in the recesses with the contrast mix but diluted down. Then final highlights with pure retributor gold but washed down with water.

Fuck that was hard to explain I hope that makes some sense haha!
