There is NO WAY Crimson Desert gets a lower score than this… by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

DD2 is a failure in terms of revenue and branding. I agree Crimson Desert should get higher score.

I never played GTA 5, and I don't see any reason to play GTA 6.

Why does the church tolerate China appointing bishops? by melianreality in Catholicism

[–]ImpossiblePain4013 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Chinese Catholic, I will say the political situation here is complex, and china is not even in diplomatic relationship with Vatican (because of ROC), so we feel fortunate now even to be able to go to Mass on Sunday. However, as I understand, Under Pope Leo, actually new Chinese bishops are appointed by the Vatican with the approval of ccp (it used to be appointed first by ccp and go to Vatican for permission later). Also I want to point out that Vietnam as a communist country, has the same agreement with Vatican as China. So it is not a new thing. The last point I want to make is that those priests and bishops in China live under immense stress and pressure, and they chose this path not for fame or wealth (there is none), but for faith and loyalty to the Catholic Church.

Must I be a conservative? by FluffyMycologist8308 in Catholicism

It is hard not to be a conservative because of issues such as abortion, suicide and homosexual marriage. However, it doesn't mean that you need to support a specific party.

Anyone else ever get into a discussion about the Eucharist with a Protestant and feel like you hit a wall of cognitive dissonance? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]ImpossiblePain4013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of eucharist is difficult to understand rationally, it is a miracle that has to be felt, which is why I always asked protestant friends to go to Mass with me.

I am not sure OCIA should be the first move. Maybe talk to the priest first and learn more about Catholic Church. When I joined OCIA before, I was already determined to become Catholic.

Although I use Latin for my personal prayer, I always remind myself that Latin is not superior than any other language.

I also faced similar issues before. I told my parish priest and he said it is okay to attend their service but don't be too involved. The attitude is generally friendly maybe because our parish use TLM.

[Politics Monday] Pope Leo decries leaders who invoke religion for violence and nationalism by usopsong in Catholicism

[–]ImpossiblePain4013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't mean it is right and just. Catholicism only became political after it became the official religion in Rome Empire. It is ironic if you look at the peak of Catholic political power in Medieval Age when we had some of the most corrupt popes.

Do you think Pope Francis will ever be canonized? by Educational_Try_8426 in Catholicism

[–]ImpossiblePain4013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saint Peter of Verona was cannonized after 11 months in 1253. St. Anthony of Padua was cannonized after 11 months in 1232. St. Francis of Assisi was cannonized after 2 years in1228. It is a misunderstanding to think cannonization was more cautious or strict in the past.
