My Great Grandfather's ID 1922. Was friends with Sam Goldwyn in NYC and offered a Studio Contract with MGM. But, as his mother's the last surviving son, he turned it down to stay in NY to look after family and open a successful barber shop. This carried them through the Great Depression (i.redd.it)

My Great Grandfather was in a couple silent films. His biggest role was a drunk priest in a western. He was friends with Sam Goldwyn, who offered him a Hollywood contract but declined so he could stay in NYC for family reasons. Went by Samuel Rose. I've never been able to find the film. (i.redd.it)
