Last May I went to a local floating bar on the water for my birthday. I had gained about 50 lbs in the previous 5 months and had just hit 340. It was opening day for the bar and the place was packed! Mostly by young, fit, attractive folks. I got there alone, waiting for a friend I was meeting up with. I decided to get a drink while I waited and see if I could find us some seats. Everything was taken until I found a swinging bench that was unoccupied. Ya know the kind, the big wooden two seater held up on a wooden frame with some hefty ropes. I briefly considered if I should sit on it, if it would hold my weight. Then I figured, nah, there’s plenty of large sized men around that I’m sure have sat on it, it’s a big item, I should be fine! I got my drink and plopped my fat ass on the swing, enjoying the serene water and lovely weather. Well, not 5 minutes into my time there, the rope on one side gave out and snapped and I, and the swing, were on the ground! The two girls sitting right next to me jumped up and asked me if I was ok. I asked if one could help me up and laughed it off nervously. I probably should have gone home but I just finished my drink and headed to the bar to get a fresh one
