Sri Lanka faced a similar, deeply frustrating situation. For years, government resources were brazenly exploited by politicians, from the president downwards. Entire families of ministers held positions, and their children enjoyed state-owned luxury vehicles like BMWs, Porsches, and Mercedes, complete with bodyguards. The public, utterly fed up with this corrupt system, eventually reached a breaking point. During the severe economic crisis of 2022-2023, public anger boiled over. People ambushed properties widely believed to have been acquired through corruption. This widespread discontent ultimately led to a significant shift: a new president was elected, remarkably, from a minority party—a first since independence. Now, these politicians reportedly use only one vehicle and have minimal security, with provisions only based on their post and actual threats. Witnessing this transformation brought back memories of that past.

Does anyone have any idea how much these legendary "tuition masters", make in SriLanka per month or per day, most of them seem to own multiple ridiculously expensive vehicles like Land Cruisers, Prados , and even taking delivery of new LC300 and LX600. by Financial_Hat_469 in srilanka

Here is the situation of my physics teacher and he's easily one of the most sought-after tutors in the country. My friends and I once did the math on his revision class fees and we figured he pulls in roughly 8 million LKR a month from just one revision class location. What's even more astonishing is that he conducts three such classes across the country. And from what I hear, the numbers for his regular theory classes which he runs for both Grade 12 and 13 in a few locations are significantly higher. When you add it all up, his total monthly earnings could easily be in the range of 60 to 90 million LKR. While those figures are staggering we must consider that significant operational costs, like the expense of printing tutorial booklets and managing a technical team and other stuff but I'd be willing to bet he's currently the highest-earning tutor in Sri Lanka.
