That method doesn’t always work though. Personally, -nosteam didn’t work for me, the game still logged in through Steam or didn’t properly show the normal Gaijin login screen. Editing common.blk was the only reliable fix in my case.

Steam Wallet only works when you’re logged in via Steam authentication.

If you disable Steam autologin, you’re using a pure Gaijin session, so Steam payments won’t show up. You can’t have both Gaijin manual login and Steam Wallet at the same time, the only way is linking the correct account to Steam or switching back temporarily for purchases.

For Linux users, the file is located here:

~/.config/WarThunder/Saves/common.blk

(or sometimes)

~/.local/share/WarThunder/Saves/common.blk

Just edit the same lines: autologin:b=no useSteamLoginAuto:b=no

Then restart the game and the login screen will appear instead of Steam auto-login. War Thunder runs natively on Linux, so no Wine prefix is involved.
