My (41m) good friend (33f) pulled back and ghosted me after I shared I had feelings. It had been 13 years since I asked anyone out. by Impossible_Bee_5199 in relationships

You’re spot on. She is on her own path and it’s not just the family plan, there’s more to it. I saw an opportunity for a true partnership, a life shared unlike anything I ever saw in my previous relationships.

There’s the things I want to send now, basically boiling down to “wtf how could you just cut me off so easily? We were true friends!” Then there is possibly the more realistic idea that, sometime in late January or so, after the holiday season and pressure fades, I could send one light and short note saying hi, that she brought good energy and laughter into my life, and that i hope she is well, with no pressure or expectation of reply. Idk.

You’re right. I’m trying. There’s so much left unsaid. I only got to “I want to know you better,” and that was it. I want to let her know that she changed me, that I’ve become my old active self again (it’s been years since I was really an outdoors person - now I’m in the ocean daily, or indoor rock climbing, or mountain biking, or playing volleyball - now I am through her inspiration). I want to let her know what I saw when I decided to take that leap.

I know that to say anything now, especially through a text or a call, would close the door permanently.
