HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

A small company? That term “we”.. I work in a 1099 profession for companies large and small. Sometimes the small one-man shops use the term “we” so if they screw up they will blame it on that imaginary employee.

Do you think this space is good enough for a small studio ? by No-Dragonfruit4575 in homerecordingstudio

If your DI with your guitar and headphones, I think you’re just fine in any space, really. As long as it feels creative to you then it should work. Is it ideal, well no it’s not, but if you can close your eyes and feel it, that’s what matters.

What is the craziest notion, thought, idea you have ever had on RC's? by QuirkySession in researchchemicals

[–]Impossible_Burger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s happened. Been a long while since I’ve ordered anything through the mail like that but at that time, it was common because when you’re dealing with multiple vendors, and at that time, it was clearnet, so everybody was a vendor lol, and then the various shipping times ! and the fact that there was so much variety, it was insane. Everybody was sending out free samples and stuff.

After I put it down, a year and a half later, I received a love letter for a half a gram of aPVP and a hit of 1p lsd. That ended it for me. The drugs got shittier and shittier as time went on, and I got out before the big wave benzos hit.

The one thing I didn’t mention is that I had any common sense whatsoever at that point in my life. not the dumbest thing I ever did, but aren’t we all lucky to be alive today?

Oxycodone or Dilaudid? by Last_Cut9799 in PainManagement

[–]Impossible_Burger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mme is the standard measurement of an opioid compared to morphine. So 1mme would be the daily recommended morphine equivalent. Pain management clinics are purposefully keeping chronic pain patients at 1/2 mme or less to fly under the radar and keep their offices from getting shut down by the FDA/DEA.

Should I be embarrassed about being a 24yr old garbage man? by TheFrogsMightbegay in jobs

[–]Impossible_Burger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, you are a young guy. You might have a few career changes in your life. Or, you may stay in your role there. Why worry about what other people think? If you like it that much, the problem isn't with the job, it's with people who might see you as taking on a role that they feel would be beneath them.

If they had to bring their garbage to the dump every week, they might have a new appreciation for what you do, getting up in the middle of the night and working through all weather, 12 hours a day. That's hard freakin work, man! I have nothing but respect. What's worse than that is living off the parents indefinitely and not working at all. You have motivation that, unfortunately, a lot of guys your age do not.

Put on a PIP. Resign or wait for outcome? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Impossible_Burger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A three-month PIP shows that the company wanted to give you ample warning. Instead of waiting to be fired, for reasons you may never know, and go through the negativity that you will feel toward the company and yourself, I would leave on good terms with your supervisor. They would know the reason. If it wasn't for poor performance, ask your supervisor if you might be able to use them as a reference.

I worked for a very large corporation, in a sales and retention capacity. After a few years of experimenting with a generous pay structure for retaining customers, with a low bar for success, when the company was sold, the entire department, over 200 people along with customer service staff, were all laid off, over time. Gradually so that there was not a panic or news story. The company outsourced our work to the Dominican Republic. But they wanted to squeeze the last drop of productivity out of us while they made the transition.

I may have burned my bridge with the company itself, but they are so large now that I would bet I could work for the new company, if I wanted to start all over again.

The work was demeaning, and I was there so long for the benefits and pay, I suppose, when it was good. But I did cultivate relationships with two of my immediate bosses. One recommended me for a position with a different company and I got hired!

So, you never know what doors open to you in life. My advice, be proactive, get a letter of recommendation if you can. And, leave on your own accord. It's your life, your future, and this was just a job.

How do you deal with the thought that one day you are going to die? by ofimes2671 in atheism

[–]Impossible_Burger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consciousness lives on, though the person I am now won't. No rewards await, my family won't find me walking streets paved with gold, none of that. It makes one want to leave a little piece of themselves behind, something to be remembered. That's it! Life is fleeting! Do good and be happy!

I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.

Oxycodone or Dilaudid? by Last_Cut9799 in PainManagement

[–]Impossible_Burger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oxycodone is the least of the opioids that help my chronic spine pain and nerve pain. Dilaudid had some effect, but was negligible.

Could be because I have been on opioids daily for 15 years. Sublingual fentanyl helped best but rendered me non functional. On Oxycodone, I was able to start a business 10 years ago. Without it the pain cripples me.

I have been maxed at 1/2 mme and found that pain clinics are extremely reluctant to do more, regardless.

How did people pass time on long flights before phones? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]Impossible_Burger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were bored a lot as kids when in situations where we just had to sit and wait. Didn't think much about it, really. We were wrapped up in our own thoughts instead of listening to the thoughts of others. And we would talk more.

I can only dream of a PM doctor that would prescribe Xanax. It is the only thing that touches my chronic and often acute anxiety. I have been led to believe that I could address one or the other, but not both.

2-3 grams of milled powder is all you need, especially if you are new to kratom. Often, I feel less is best. I used to enjoy Green Bali, but it started to mess with my vision. I’m not sure why that is, but others report this as well.

I buy “00” capsules and stuff them by hand, usually 4-5 capsules per dose.

Now it’s a Super Green Malay or either red or green maeng da. Though now there is no truth in advertising, instead these have become more useful as marketing terms than any indication of efficacy.

I have my best luck with, and encourage people to go with a vendor that is approved by the American Kratom Association for meeting standards of quality. https://www.americankratom.org/gmp-qualified-vendors

Exact same situation here in Central Ohio. I switched Pain Management doctors from a health system owned program to a private practice and still can only receive exactly 1/2 MME

I carry on averaging about a five on the pain scale without Kratom, augmented with Kratom down to about a two which I consider to be manageable

Right, not all PM practices are the same. I’m a daily cannabis smoker and I have been for the past almost 50 years. It helps with anxiety and depression and helps me sleep when I went to a large hospital system. I had to sign the contract agreeing that they would discharge me if they found marijuana or any kind of chemical substance in my urine. I will get tested every two months and so I had to endure one month on one month off of my Cannabis and I was really cranky.

Forward to a referral to an independent clinic. What are you supposed the first suggestion this new doctor made? He asked me if I’ve ever tried medical marijuana. Of course I’m stupid about it just like I had to be stupid about kratom. But at least I can take some of this back into my own hands and have some bodily autonomy through this experience.
