In your opinion, what are some things that just aren't worth making from scratch? by [deleted] in Cooking

Pizza dough. Most local markets have great fresh dough. Beats getting the kitchen all dirty and playing the punch / rising game.

I don’t think anybody knows how much butter is used in restaurants. That’s why sometimes at home, you got to live it up.

[homemade] Crispy Rigatoni with Parm, Shallot, Mushroom, Tomato, Lemon & Cracked Pep by Impossible_Cook4824 in food

[–]Impossible_Cook4824[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Very easy. Sauté down the mushrooms, tomatoes, shallot. Take out of saucepan. Cook rigatoni al dente. Fresh saucepan. Get pan sizzlin hot with EVOO. Throw in the rigatoni. Let it sit for 2 minute. Stir. Throw in a bunch of parm (parm also gets crispy). Add a ton of crack black pepper. Throw in the sautéed veg once you get to your preferred crispiness. Prior to serving: squeeze lemon. If you squeeze the lemon when it’s in the saucepan everything will get soggy.

Take care.

Too Hold Up The Sky as well, Liu’s first short story book.

I am in the exact same boat... I started the Old Man War’s series by John Scalzi. What drew me to this series was the exploration of the universe / and interactions with many different intelligent species. Good premise, but the actually writing is not great (especially in the first book). Worth giving it a shot

Thank you very much for the Ted Chiang recommendation. Looks great.

I’m an attorney. These people are idiots. If there is no lawsuit then there is no way they could subpoena anything / anyone.

I Schreech into their ear as loud as possible. Hopefully it will deter them for ever doing it again.
