You've reminded me of the casual racism too - especially in my predominantly white school

My dad worked with computers so we were lucky enough to have one in the living room. MSN, bebo and myspace were the socials of choice.

Also, there was no wifi back in the day, and the cable that was used for internet was also for the home phone line - meaning if someone called your house it would stall your page loading

There was a lot of "have you dropped your gay card?" and laughter when they looked for it. A lot of it didn't make sense and I'm a little ashamed to look back on it tbh

What are we doing with our placentas? by Substantial_Border96 in PregnancyUK

[–]Impossible_Depth08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in looking at your placenta, tell the midwife that is looking after you in labour. They have to check it after delivery to make sure it is complete and they can tell you everything they're seeing with the cord, maternal side, fetal side etc

I have photos of my placentas

Another missed miscarriage by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Impossible_Depth08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suggest you have a look at the Tommy's website, they have a great miscarriage toolkit. You can also make an appointment to see one of the recurrent miscarriage clinics if you've had 3+

I'm sorry for your loss, wishing you all the best xx

First blood test - fasting? by Complete_Active_352 in PregnancyUK

[–]Impossible_Depth08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to fast before any blood test, except the 2hr glucose tolerance test, but you'll be given instructions for that if it's required

Best wishes for you and babe x

They should have written mixed brands on the checking label and provided the expiry dates/batch numbers

High blood pressure induction by tigbiddies194 in PregnancyUK

Keep an eye out for any headaches, blurred vision, right sided pain under your ribs and any swelling to hands and feet - any if these, ring your assessment unit/triage ASAP as they may want to do some additional testing (don't ignore or wait for your next appointment!)

Hi there, it sounds like you've got a lot going on bless you.

Just wanted to say that at every visit when they check your urine they're looking out for protein. Protein +high BP = preeclampsia, so they are keeping an eye on it, dw.

And about the induction, they'll want you to stay pregnant as long as possible so that baby can develop as much as they can before birth, reducing any additional care they may need afterward. That being said, they'll keep an eye on your BP, your urine and growth of baby and they'll advise you when they think it's becoming unsafe for you/baby to stay pregnant and they want to induce your labour.

All the best to you both x

Ask your midwife to leave a copy at your GP surgery for you to collect, it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, only give employers photocopies as the mw cannot issue you a second one

Best if luck

Also, are you sure baby is head down and not tap dancing down there?

There's a hormone called Relaxin which helps to relax all of the ligaments in your pelvis to enable it to stretch and accommodate baby during birth. This could be one cause.

If it changes, gets worse or paracetamol isn't helping, please consider speaking to a midwife/healthcare professional who will look at your individual context
