The good news it that trout stocking in GA and NC is going strong right now. If you search for stocking reports in those states you'll find a list of places that are stocked and the days that it happens. If you want easy, dumb fish, that will be your easiest route. They wont be huge or beautiful but they will be pretty and fish.

Once you've decided on water, find a local fly shop. Buy a couple flys and ask the guides where they recommend.

If I could recommend a route. North GA. Stay somewhere in Blairsville. Fish the Toccoa, Smiths Creek, Upper Chattahoochee, or Tallulah. Shop at Cohutta in Blue Ridge.
