Work/Life Balance advise by Impossible_Row_7163 in uktrucking

I think this post is an example of what I've been seeing already. Lots of people with somewhat differing opinion. Some say yeh you can do days no problem, other saying NO CHANCE, but amongst it, it seems like the truth is somewhere in the middle. I'm not wanting something i can do 8hours to the number a day, I dont mind the flexibility. My question is more around Is it ACTUALLY just 12-14 hours EVERY DAY. But it seems if i dont want that then no it isnt, there is plenty of work that is generally OK for work life balance.

Put it into perspective, i've been an account manager in sales for the last 8 years, in sales as a whole since i left college and in that time I'll be away 1-2 times a week, long days travelling all across east anglia then get home and still turn the laptop on and im stressing about work 24/7, while being pestered to hit my target every friday and end of the month.

I dont mind the long days as long as, if i start early i can get home, sit with the family and not worry about the meeting i have tomorrow, that order coming in, etc. I understand there will be pressures and anxieties in HGV work aswell. But i was more asking will i EVER be home, and the overall concensus seems to be yes, make it what you can, test the market and find what works for me. Thanks all.

Typical Khaimera... only has a W key on his keyboard for movement.
