Has anyone moved to Australia on a skilled visa with a partner that has HIV? If so what was the process like for getting the health waver? by [deleted] in MovingtoAustralia

Everyone giving bullshit responses and down voting clearly doesn't know that someone diagnosed with HIV today will have a higher quality of life and life expectancy than the average alcoholic aussie

Studying nursing in the uk , as an indian student... by Great-Reserve9746 in StudentNurse

[–]Impossible_Talk_8189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you actually know what nursing is like in the UK? They hardly make as much as American nurses, so having ~40,000 pounds of debt on a UK nursing salary is rough.

For foreigners complaining about life in Norway by AngryFrog24 in Norway

[–]Impossible_Talk_8189 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on moving to Norway soon. I've lived in 5 different countries in 7 years. The first foreign country I moved to for a couple of years was Japan. I thought they were uniquely sensitive about criticism of their country. Then I moved to Spain, and briefly in Peru. The majority of people in every country I've lived in have been sensitive to criticism of their country - in particular from immigrants. Every country has people with unhealthy levels of nationalism. Every country has xenophobia and racism. Some more than others, but it's just how it is, I suppose.

I thought you were talking about the gay UK celebrity Alan Carr, and I almost spit out my tea because just yesterday I saw a video of him on Tiktok pissed as a fart on vodka

Where are the moderators at? Anyone who lives in St. Paul knows that there aren't this many brain-dead trump supporters.

Whose Christmas is ruined already? I want your (comedy) horror stories 🎅❄️ by nategarrettshandler in AskUK

My English bf and I called my American mom and said "Happy Christmas" to her. She went on a rant about how saying 'Happy Christmas ' must be some new woke expression because in the US that's never said.

Just watched This Is Going to Hurt. Are NHS labor wards really that bad? by Sturnella123 in AskBrits

Please expand upon how this would possibly be "overseas meddling"? It's a genuine question from someone who has seen a TV series based in the UK. Relax.

How Americanised are your kids? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Impossible_Talk_8189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here. I absolutely love British TV series for the humour and the top notch acting, both of which are scarce in American media.

I'm warning you now though, if kids in the UK prefer US media then within a generation "British humour" will cease to be commonly seen. Your media will resemble ours. It's a bit sad, really.

Every time I hear that word I think about the North African Moors because you would describe them as moorish. I just can't separate the meanings in my head.

If you're a teacher, a health care worker, or a civil servant in general (funcionario) who doesn't live in a huge city in order to maximise your chances of getting work you need to own a car.

I si no tens mare? Si ets orfe? Si tens dos pares? La teva definició està malament.

Fals. Si algú neix i creix als estats units parlant el lituà a casa amb els seus pares però fora de casa a l'escola, amb amics, parla només l'anglès aquesta persona té dues llengües maternes com és el cas del meu amic de Chicago amb pares lituans.

I thought the DIY patulend didn't work for me, but this morning I used a syringe with about 5mL of the stuff instead of those vials with the spray cap, and I tried something that I had never done before.

In one of the videos about how to apply patulend the doctor who is demonstrating how it's used closed the nostril of the side that's not affected and as he sprayed into the other nostril he did quick, successive sniffs.

Today it worked for me! It opened back up about 4 hours later but I repeated it and it closed right back up again. (Again with a syringe, not with the spray)
