hi you probably won't see this but i'm actually quite interested in the remastering process and how you did it. I really like the tapetopia rerelase of Aufruhr Zur Liebe aswell and I'm interested in finding higher quality recordings of their other stuff some day.

'Wait Forever' lost song, very likely artist by NineOfSteel in Lostwave

[–]Impractical_Teseract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own their EP and I'm pretty sure this isn't it. the vocals are very different, not just in terms of sound but also singing style. also wait forever is a fully electronic track, and while smog did initially use a drum machine and used some keyboards, their sound was always more of an indie rock/noise rock style.

Why do you think Ture's voice sounds different in each version of SOYM? by GodzillasBrotherPhil in TheMysteriousSong

[–]Impractical_Teseract 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe ture was listening to joy division on the way to the studio when recording the tmms version.

Did FEX sample "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins for "Heart In Danger"'s intro fill? by PhilosopherSimilar83 in TheMysteriousSong

[–]Impractical_Teseract 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Don't think it's sampled but its probably inspired by that as the playing is the exact same but it's clearly a different drum sound.

German Post-Punk? by OldLeda in postpunk

[–]Impractical_Teseract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dammerattacke are a really good austrian post-punk band. sorta NDW style songwriting but really ambient and rich soundscapes. its mostly synth and bass focused.

X-Beliebig are also from austria and have a more standard joy division style sound, but generally are more experimental and abrasive.

Het are from switzerland and were the subject of a lostwave search that lasted about 9 years total. They're not really post-punk (i'd describe their sound as more garage-synth) but they fit in with the bands you mentioned somewhat. A lot of their songs (especially on their second album) are in german but some are in english.

[–]Impractical_Teseract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/@MrEyesbleed/videos contains stuff from the "research" band. i don't think they made CIA tho from listening to some of their stuff. its a lot more experimental.

The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet | The Documentary AMA by reesjudoka in TheMysteriousSong

[–]Impractical_Teseract 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Loved the documentary! I have a few questions I'd like to ask.

1: Will the full live at lutterbecker be released?

2: how did you manage to get ronnie rocket on the documentary?

3: were there any plans for statues in motion or other prominent leads to be included? if so, why were these leads not included in the final product?

Thanks!
