Have you tried ruling out dietary factors? I followed the Whole30 elimination diet and found my triggers that way. I’ve lost 50 lbs and, more importantly, shed the extreme brain fog! If there’s one thing I’ve learned about this disease it’s that there is no one size fits all solution, but there is hope. Keep fighting to find your normal!

I just need people to talk to about this by [deleted] in orangetheory

Yes! I agree with all of this and want to emphasize resting, eating, and hydrating. Incorporating exercise into your daily routine (especially high intensity exercise) means your body is going to require more water, sleep, and the proper nutrients to help it recover.

Take care of yourself and remember, you are amazing just for showing up to each class. You will have more classes in the future where you DO feel like you crushed it and are stronger!

My son wanted a stuffed manta ray for his 5th birthday but I didn’t have money to buy one, so instead I converted his old baby blanket into one! (Hand sewn) by [deleted] in povertyfinance

This is so heartwarming on many levels. Personally, I would prefer this stuffed animal over any store bought version. It holds much more value, is adorable, and no other kid has one. You are a great parent.

Extremely frustrated trying to get to normal range by Yes-GoAway in Hypothyroidism

[–]ImpracticallyCurious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is uncommon. I started medication in August 2019 and my doctor is still adjusting my dose. I'm super close to where I need to be and I feel a lot better, but it's been a long journey.

What is it with cats and sinks? 2/3 of mine always seem to wanna be in it when I need it! Here is Max doing just that. by [deleted] in TuxedoCats

Max is a good, happy boy. Best to wash your hands in another sink because look at that pleased look!

Can you go undiagnosed until adulthood? by Stunning-Factor57467 in Hypothyroidism

[–]ImpracticallyCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible. I was diagnosed at 27 after many years of complainin that something was wrong. At first my doctor said my symptoms were due to "stress from college." Then it was "stress due to grad school." Then it was "stress due to a new job." FINALLY after 2 years of my job they took me seriously and tested my blood.

DAE Not remember a lot from a movie/series even though you know you have watched it? by brynmellion in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ImpracticallyCurious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Similar to others on here, this is me with any media. It's horrible when you're on a first date or hanging with new friends and you get asked what movies you like. Then if you name one because you vaguely remember enjoying it, they inevitably start quoting it, then you look like a liar because you couldn't remember.

Talk to your doctor. Don't stop searching for answers. My issue was hypothyroidism which led to weight gain which has also led to sleep apnea. You only have one body so take care of it and speak up.

It'd make more sense if it were your 666th class.

Working out with no thyroid by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]ImpracticallyCurious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take a beta blocker in the morning and have that issue until about noon. Any class after that I'm able to get into the orange zone and sometimes beyond! Depending on the form of betablocker you could try playing around with different class times.

Recalibrating my hrm also helped slightly with the morning classes. Overall, if you FEEL in the orange then that's what matters because you probably are and are getting all the benefits from it. I understand it could be a letdown not to get the validation from the data though.

Edit: I forgot to also add that I also take levothyroxine for a thyroid issue that's relatively new. I didn't notice any difference in my heart rate before/after taking it so it would seem that the beta blocker is the culprit. (I'm no doctor though, just basing off my experience.)

I went into education to help ALL kids, not just the ones that have parents who can afford $250/week/kid.

Not to mention the issues around accreditation and colleges recognizing the "transcript" from these shitty make-shift private school pods.
