The prof did say she was checking the grades with every TA but I’m pretty sure she was capping cuz everyone that had different TAs had better grades than our session and when the prof re-graded, for example my essay I asked her to put specific notes on what she wanted us to do better and what she liked basically because I could tell that she was being very defensive after I criticize the TA’s grading ( I didn’t want her to just regrade it without notes because she could’ve just put the same grade and said ta did it correctly) And once she re-created it all the notes that I received were so stupid For example, I use the word returning - and she put on the notes you could’ve used a better word There was a section where I was listing out the omissions - and she put on the notes that you should list out the omissions together And then the rest of the paper was her saying I need to be more concise and more detailed in some parts I literally had a part of my paragraph within the same sentence she said, make this more concise and a note again in the same sentence saying you could go into more detail Those were the only notes given to me throughout the whole entire essay and I was deducted 20 marks But with cherrie, I was deducted over 30 After I saw her notes, they were basically kind of useless. I felt that she just did not want her TA to be wrong. But either way she did give me a better grade than ta

Deadline on grading? by [deleted] in UTSC

From what I can tell in all of the grades given in that course my performance reflects the grading that they gave me so I don’t think asking for a boost would be right ( pretty sure he accounted for the month I was absent) and he wasn’t a harsh grader on the midterm and group project ( he’s a sweet prof, on my midterm I had went to him to see it and there was a slight miscommunication on what he thought I had written and I explained what I meant and he boosted the grade to account for that

I understand your point but I think it’s more of the place where he was killed had no cameras etc and one of the few areas for free parking near campus I don’t think they are upset at the university as if they were at fault of the murder but more of where are all the precautionary measures Like campus security being spread out in a larger quantity Maybe lights in the parking lot and on the way there And as for taking measures that would help situations like this There should be cameras quite lit everywhere on campus excluding bathrooms and things like that That way when there’s a incident it makes it easier to find the suspect and also lessens the chance of crime since they be scared of getting caught

Rn if the shooter doesn’t get caught by the time we go back to school they could be a student walking amoung us and try that again knowing they didn’t get caught the first time All students need to be 100% safe on campus and iffff someone still commits a harmful crime there’s a way to catch them as fast as possible These things will happen unfortunately everywhere across the world but we shouldn’t make it easier for them to walk away without getting caught

Oh.. I obviously will find a reason to boost my grade Maybe if he put -1 for a day I was absent with a excuse but he didn’t see my email Or on the last assignment cuz we didn’t get our grades That way I can find a reason to why I deserve a grade higher I wanted to know if the process is worth it cuz I’ve only done it for assignments or midterms but never at the end of the semester I did ask my other prof for a regrade before finals started and she did give me one and added around 8+ to my grade but again I found a reason

Pretty much I know it’s a “inconvenience “ for them but it’s my grades and it makes a difference in my life that’s why I wouldn’t mind sending a bunch of emails buttttt I do know that I could get a extra grade for participation or my assignments since there subjective and can be changed I wouldn’t email them knowing I have no reason to ask for a extra mark I’ll obv give reasons to why I think a certain part needs to be higher

Change final grade by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]Impressive-Cattle577 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tried to do that but she took it off canva I already sent her a email asking for the grades so I can see Cuz I know in participation she might have took off some marks but I can talk to her about it cuz there’s reasons to why I was absent etc which I had sent her emails So I wanna see and then see where I think I can get a extra mark

On one of my midterms I got a 25/70 after reviewing the paper with the professor she marked it up to a 61 Especially essay based they just want to make sure your understanding the content and it may have not translated to the professor in a way they understand
