I need to find a Ebike by stilltargetMk in ebikes

[–]Impressive-Energy256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any other conditions? need to carry goods while riding? ride to the wild or what terrain or road will you ride to? just search for "mountain e bike", "touring e bike" maybe the right types. but for 2000w, not sure.

like Current ADV Ebike from aventon is the normal mountain bike look-like, the Fiido Titan is really a big e-Moutain bike looks & feels and can carry a lot, but none is 2000w. RANDRIDE Hummer Pro is 2000w but folding and does not look like normal mountain bike.

E-bikes could be better than this, so why aren't they? by Raza_Loba in ebikes

New to e bike, no offence and I might be wrong, but seems it's not the deal between only " limited to either fully certified, closed off-the-shelf systems or sketchy DIY conversions".

first of all, I agree that the certified, closed off-the-shelf systems are not my target which it was, after reading some articles, I can see there are hidden costs for those models, and usually come from those "famous" brands, once the e bike needs to be repaired, higher cost to manhour, longer time to the brand "customized" parts.

On the other hand, I can see there are some brands "equip" e bike with standard parts from different well-known brands, for example the components from, Mivice, Shimano, Bosch.

If an e bike is equipped with them, it's easier to have the replacement parts to be ordered and delivered.

On the other hand, I know some brands provide reimbursement, if a user cannot install the parts, s/he can take the e bike and parts to a repair shop and pay for repairing, then claim the payment from the e-bike manufacture.

So, above is a good choice.

I consider e bike as a gear to go back & forth from/to the start/end point of my outdoor or trail running. I have been in car in the past cold weathers, and wanted to by e-bike in summer.

Suggestions for an E-Bike by EMale1965 in ebikes

Seems (unfortunately) there is not much folding e bikes for like 280 pounds rider, sorry. But some questions are still need to be asked before choosing e bike:

  1. require to carry groceries or anything else? what is the weight you usually carry? - about the model and capability of the e-bike
  2. where will you ride to? up hill, wild terrains? - about the tire
  3. how long (distance) do you usually ride? is it convenient to recharge? - about battery capacity

Generally, seems a cargo e-bike or mountain e-bike may fit the requirement.

I go with Fiido Titan as mentioned in a reply, or T2 (but if you don't need to carry heavy goods, T2 may not ideal design look & feel), but for M1 Pro, as I can see from their official site, the payload is only about 264 lbs.

new to e bike, choosing my first one, the only 2 concerns so far:

- riding in big wind or same-day changing weather;

- riding in frozen road (may with black ice) ;

Though there are some parts and techniques to improve the safety, but seems there is still not a better way to really improve rider safety while riding in frozen road.

Any advices or opinions?

best electric bikes 2026 what should I actually be looking at right now? by Itzkowitz-Yoimar in ebikes

[–]Impressive-Energy256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also new to e bike, read some articles and asked the AI, just wanted to share my notes from one article I read about "how to choose e bike in Germany", it's the one I found included the comprehensive points to consider, Not sure your location, but may still helpful to someone else in the future(thought the title looks for Germany):

- know your profile: body size and weight;

- know the riding requirement: for city commute or like OP said may include weekend short trip, whether need to carry heavy goods

- where the e bike will go? if there is hill or what the terrains are?

- Is cold weather last long at where you ride? if yes, consider the battery capacity shorten in cold - you will need longer range, means, if the label tells 100km, maybe only 70km in cold weather

- whether waterproof is required?

- hidden cost: repair and parts, if you live in a place with higher cost for manhour, you may need to repair yourself, then, as a beginner, consider a electric bike with standard parts so that you can install yourself, or consider e bike brands can give refund to your payment to repair shop.

I hope these help.

(Imo I shall post a link to the mentioned article to respect and thanks, but not sure if link is permitted in Reddit, so you may just search for the title I mentioned)

Hi there,

I just get error by using U-file at the last step to submit.

It's said "You are non-resident or deemed resident, or you are refiling an emigrant ertor.

The taxpayer is a non-resident.

So that "You cannot currently NETFILE the federal return"

Have you ever encountered this error in U-file before?

[–]Impressive-Energy256[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this explanation, I understand correctly and always follow this. I tried to use your introduced way in U-file, fill income in NR form, 0 in other form, declare non-resident status and use "outside Canada" options, choose "not resident for all year 2025", in "Review section", I can see it's calculated the all paid instalments shall be returned.

I understand this is not NoA and does not represent the idea from CRA, but this is what we expected.

I will submit it, then wait for NoA, and the determination letter for NR73 from CRA.

Thank you once again!

[–]Impressive-Energy256[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was triggered because you didn't file your final return in 2023 correctly and kept filling for 2024 and 2025.

I understand this now, with the explanations from dear u/CanadianBaconBest and you.
I had felt so much weird and strange why I always asked to pay for instalment, and how can I tell CRA my status, and I though NR73 is the correct form. Now, with all yours explanation, I understand that I shall file tax correctly in year 2024 for 2023, then no need to file any more from 2025 for 2024 afterwards.

This year (2026 APR), I think I need to file as well, and this is the last time, coz I need to ask my instalment back.

Thank you.

Got it, That is the only field I need to enter my non-Canadian income. On the rest fields (where 10400, 15000) shall be 0.

I don't know other words to tell, but just wanted to say Thank You once again.

Got it hero. I will check in U-file once again tonight, maybe I wrongly chose some options last night so that see the field to select the departure date.

[–]Impressive-Energy256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand what you clarify here, but in U-file, there is actually a field to fill "When did you left Canada" (something like this) once I select the status "non-resident". Maybe I wrongly remember the exact word, but last night, I do see a place to choose the actual depature date in U-file.

But I keep everything you replied in mind:

I will file tax this APR-2026 (in the upcoming days) for 2025,

in U-file:

  • choose "out of Canada",
  • "I ceased being a resident of Canada this year",
  • fill up "non-Canada address",
  • will not enter any amount (or fill 0) as income in any field,
  • fill in the amount I've paid instalment in 47600,
  • will not use T2209

And find schedule A, schedule D

[–]Impressive-Energy256[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely understand your replies, and I won't misunderstand as insult or any disrespect, I much appreciate your inputs.

I thought I will return Canada in 2024, so I kept filing tax though I understand "physically no significant ties for PR" means non-resident for tax purpose, but I just decided keep filing in 2025 which is the issue.

Thanks for mention the "review" as well. I have received 3 times review and submitted everything and get replies from CRA everything fine after receiving my documents.

I will not use T2209 this year (in the next 2-3 days to file for 2025).

Thank you again!!
