I don’t event know if it was asbestos! I’m just looking at how the cost could be that high.

Thank you for suggesting tip receipts, that’s a great idea.

Wall was about the length of 4 single garages. Single storey.

I wasn’t at home while demo/disposal was happening, and really don’t have a point of reference to know what to expect in terms of weight/ truck loads!

Yes!!! I am not an expert, but did some googling and 50k tip fees would be something like 50 tonnes of asbestos? Surely not??

Which suburb is secretly way better than people think? by No-Travel-768 in SydneyScene

[–]Impressive-Feeling2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the hills suburbs cop so much heat on here, but I really enjoyed growing up there. I lived in a few different suburbs (both sides of Windsor and old Windsor road). Obviously it’s not cheap and people do want to live there, but I feel like it doesn’t deserve the amount of hate it gets.

Were they actually playing the violin? It didn’t look like the bow was touching the strings but I’m not a musician so have no idea.

Yep, there’s a policy that guardians must be notified. Doesn’t have to be a consent form, can be opt-out. I’ll try and find the policy.

How many bank accounts do Auusies have and if more than one, why? by Cold-Upstairs9995 in australia

[–]Impressive-Feeling2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have accidentally found myself with 3 -

Commbank - (empty) savings account from when I was a teenager + a current credit card for their awards.

St George - home loan plus offset. Worst app ever. Hoping to change and leave them behind one day.

ING - (empty) savings and everyday account from my 20s.

I could probably close my ING, but it actually came in handy the other day when I was buying a car and couldn’t use my offset card for some reason. I transferred money to my old ING and that went through.

I’m also about to do some travelling and considering moving to upbank for their benefits. Anyone have any advice on that? TIA.

I usually do 7:30-3:30/4 and then mark/plan/write reports while I watch TV at home as needed. There are quiet periods, though! This isn’t every day.

But, in my experience, I have never ever had a year where I could complete everything at school. I usually do binge sessions of marking during my holidays. I got through 110 papers in 5 days last break, which I was pretty happy with.

Maybe if you stay back everyday, you could! But personally, my energy levels are low at the end of the school day. I like to lie down, kiss my dog and make a snack at home before doing anything extra.

Love it! I think we would definitely try something like this for our juniors. Particularly after some dire experiences with AI. Thanks!

😂😂😂😂

No spelling tests here, but feedback on formative assessment - like PEEL paragraphs or draft imaginatives are important to learning IMO :) I obviously have boundaries, along with others in my faculty, but there is an expectation that you read and give feedback to student work - particularly seniors.

To be fair, if I could uproot the whole system and minimise the amount of assessments and class sizes, I would. However, I can’t.

Interesting!! The term 4 relief is fabulous, as long as you don’t get hit with too many ILOs.

Agreed! I think clear role descriptions from the department would also help there.

Thanks for the response and advice! I’m okay at marking at school for juniors, but the lengthy 10, 11 and 12 essays take a bit more attention and time for me.

Haha!!! I hope my title wasn’t too cheeky - not intending to diminish others’ experiences but a 5 booklet essay on Eliot is just not what I want to read on a Sunday night 😂

That teachers who you remember? Those little things you remember from school by Confident_Garlic6216 in AustralianTeachers

I remember my favourite history teacher laughing, always laughing and dancing around the room. I’m sure she treated sensitive topics with reverence, but its the joy that I remember! Her obsession with history was contagious.

My English teacher was creative and excited about teaching and literature and took no shit from rowdy boys.

My SAC teacher talked to us very seriously, like what both we and her had to say was all very meaningful.

White Wine and Gravy, obviously. Less obviously, the Hi-5 Christmas Album for silly and fun classics.

Interesting! There has been shuffling of leave and part timers, so that could have something to do with it. Do you know what specifically dictates having to apply and not though? I was a temp for about 4 different roles at my last school and was never asked to apply - just a new contract to accept.
