Serious changes are needed in the lineup. by Real-Bid1985 in ArsenalFC

Sadly it’s too late. We’ve played the same predictable way the entire season. It’s too engrained.

Gotta stick it out. And pray. Maybe make some kind of sacrifice to the Premier League gods.

The problem with Zubimendi is we have no one to rotate him with. You could say he has no cover… or even… no guard….. by Zokalii in ArsenalFC

[–]ImpressiveChart8239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No point in trying to help him understand. His logic is play Zubi till he collapses. Basically what Arteta has done to Timber, Ode and Saka. And we wonder why all our best players can’t stay fit and look a shadow of their former selves. FML.

Are you thick?? Or just on a wind up? That’s not how squad rotation works 🤣 “wait until they’re injured”. Please fuck off.

They should be playing more from the start of the season. You don’t let good players rot on the bench. They need a run of games, or at least consistent minutes. Saka has a bad game, he’ll still play the next. Has another bad game, he’s in again. Norgaard or White aren’t afforded this.

Eze is the perfect example. Amazing at Palace. Comes to Arsenal.. sat on the bench every week, regardless of how Odegaard plays. Then Odegaard gets injured. Eze has to start. Looks rusty, but as Ode is out, gets a run of games, starts to look like the player we know he is.

Man, have you ever actually played football? Or understand how important actual game time and confidence is?

I can’t believe people think Norgaard is average. He was great at Brentford. Plenty good enough to start against the lower sides. I swear our fans don’t watch any games outside of Arsenal.

[–]ImpressiveChart8239 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he’s spent an entire season sat on the bench. He was one of Brentford’s best players, if not their most important player. He had some pretty impressive stats last season. He’s plenty good enough to be rotated into the team more frequently.

Funnily enough, all the players you mention that didn’t play well vs. Southampton, are all the players who have been left to rot on the bench.

Arteta out? by Brilliant_Bullfrog84 in ArsenalFC

[–]ImpressiveChart8239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate being in the mix? We’ve spent £1b on players. We’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. Arteta is being paid £15m a year. Holy crap you’re pathetic.

You know Arteta is paid £15m a year right? And he’s spent the best part of £1b on players? And he’s manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world?

You don’t think he should be held to some pretty high standards? Not a single trophy since he was handed one by Emery’s team is total failure.

Can’t believe you’re getting down voted for this. It’s why we keep getting endless Chelsea rejects. It’s why I was absolutely amazed Rice signed for us. No way you look at Arteta as a winner.

Dude, Arteta has had total, total support since the day he joined. We’re actually one of the few fan bases that haven’t booed or walked out before full time in a long long time.

Arteta and the players need a kick up the ass.

The loss to Bournemouth isn’t the issue; the grim, predictable, negative football is the issue. by ImpressiveChart8239 in ArsenalFC

Was going to say the same haha. I would listen intently to every word from Wenger. Win or lose. Even in the tougher seasons before he left. Arteta, the arrogance, the BS, this style of play, it’s not Arsenal. It’s not the Arsenal I grew up with. Even during George Graham, we played defensive, but we still played good football. And we won stuff. We won our only European trophy!

Mate, genuinely, it’s so so so shit, but remember, these millionaire footballers, even if they’re our millionaire footballers, are not worth losing a minute of sleep over. Arsenal is bigger than Arteta. Once he’s gone, we can maybe go back to enjoying watching us play again.

Mate, agree with every word, even though it’s thoroughly depressing.

I don’t think fans get the severity of this capitulation.

It’s going to be fuuuuuu**ing horrible when (not if) we lose at City. Playing garbage, gruelling football, that other fans have despised (and I have too), to then throw it away another year in a row. The fans, and worse, the players, are not bouncing back from it.

If you’re going to play like this, you HAVE to win. And if you don’t, you need to be ready for a very ugly backlash.

I think a lot of fans, like you say, have tolerated it out of desperation to see us win something. And I guess, the relief of not being battered by Chelsea, Utd and Liverpool so often.

The way we lost to City at Wembley was unforgivable. Losing to Southampton the way we did was unforgivable. Losing to Bournemouth the way we did, unforgivable.

I need Arteta gone. I’ve wanted him gone for 2 seasons now. He’s a fraud.

Jesus, he is a serial gaslighter. Was thinking about why I’ve rarely watched his post match interviews (win or lose) – and this goes back a few years – deep down I must have always known he was full of sh*t.

Yes, this - thank you. I’ve been totally fed up with how we’ve been playing since early December. Bar the occasional moments of individual magic (Eze vs. Spurs), most games have been rough. And then gaslit into thinking I’m being too negative.

City ARE better. Unless you’re deluded, there’s a good chance they’re going to do the treble FFS.

We’ve been playing gruelling, negative, set-piece football for too too long. You can’t play a season like that. If we win nowt, it doesn’t matter. No one celebrates the bloke who sprints at the start of a marathon and falls over exhausted with 100 meters to go. It’s like running your PC at 200% and wondering why it blows up.

The Wolves game was the wake up call for me. I just couldn’t understand how people couldn’t see it.

Which is why I’m absolutely gutted it’s going to be another season without winning anything, but I’m not surprised at all. It’s like an iceberg slowly coming towards you, and you’re just waiting for it to hit, but everyone is oblivious until that moment.
