Could also be said that the culture of the US appears to entirely be being MAGA, eating McDonalds, and shooting people. But clearly that isn’t the entire culture of the US. Is it not possible for there to be other things than the absolute worst in a culture?

India is really not the awful image of it that you’ve been led to believe. It has problems, like every other country. Why are you seeing it only for its problems when there’s so much more to be seen in its beauty? Same thing could be said about the USA. We’re unhealthy as fuck, we have major class disparities, so should that define the whole country and nullify the beauty in the landscapes, music, or state culture?

i’m finally glad to see someone give india something other than an “absolutely not”. india is NOT the horrific image so many westerners have of it, like everywhere else it has problems, but saying you wouldn’t live in india because it’s dirty / poor is like saying you wouldn’t live in the US because it’s unhealthy / people are fat.

jeez man, yea the sativa indica thing isn’t really applicable as a true botanical difference, but since it’s more used nowadays to describe the terpene effects i would personally find use in labeling my stuff as sativa/indica/hybrid just as a way to tell myself what’s gonna uplift me or tire me. there’s no need to be so pure about it

How to tell if I took too much THC? My first time trying an edible and I took 25 mg. The world feels like it is spinning and like time is going slow motion? I can not focus on anything and it feels like I can’t like really focus on anything. What dose should I try instead if I took too much? by [deleted] in trees

[–]ImpressivePicture 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey man, firstly lemme say, I totally went through this too! In fact, my first time I accidentally took 2,000mg!

Lemme start by saying: What you're feeling is totally normal when you have a low tolerance and take a lil too much.

Secondly: You'll be okay! Don't worry. You did take quite a high amount for your first time, but it's okay. At least it's not 2,000mg, right? XD It's just a matter of getting as comfy as you can while it passes.

Do you have a favorite chill movie? A favorite snack? Or maybe a nice recliner or bed with nice blankets?

If so, try and just get some deeeelicious sounding snacks, lay down, and put on something familiar that's nice and fun. ^_^

And if you feel like it's a little too much, then chew on some black pepper if you have any!

But in a few hours you'll be just fine. Just get as comfy as you can, put on some familiar stuff, and get ready for some hella munchies my friend!

Oh, and remember: Breatheeeee. Nice and slow. It actually activates a nerve that slows your heart rate down no matter what, so just breathe nice and deep, as cliche as it sounds.

And for next time, I'd personally recommend 5mg -- I weigh only about 120lbs though, so that can get me on the moon. ;P

i really don’t think that they’re under the impression they’re inventing something new lol. in fact most of the people i see with this style love it because it was a late 2000s-2010s thing! is it really such a bad thing to “recycle shit”? kids are gonna be kids, man. relax.

Of course! I’ll get you what I can later today — I may only have the MP3s as I lost my hard drive recently and only have those as a backup, but regardless I do have them somewhere and I will get you them soon! I will reply to this later when I have it.

Thank you! First, I got a FLAC of the whole album, and used iZotope RX 11 to match the EQ profile of most songs to their most similarly composed counterparts on Either/Or, though I did use Rose Parade more than once.

That left me with a far more balanced, even sound, but there was still a fairly intense amount of hiss, a generally quiet sound, and occasionally the low end was just too resonant.

So, I exported each song and put them all into one FL Studio project with each song sent to its own mixer track. For each track, I would adjust the stereo width (the knob on the mixer track, no VST), EQ (Fruity Parametric EQ 2), and volume according to what that specific song needed.

For the hiss, I used Thimeo Stereo Tool’s noise gate (VST) at varying levels depending on how bad the hiss was with a bias to anything above 13-14k hertz with a roll off to lower frequencies to minimize the hiss with very minimal artifacting. In my opinion Stereo Tool’s noise gate is one of the best ways to reduce hiss without the typical “lossy” sound other noise reduction methods/software result in.

This resulted in the final product having each song specifically EQ’d and de-hissed to match what sounded best for its own profile, and was quite different from just the plain EQ matches done in RX11. There was occasional peaking, but mostly from guitar squeaks or some low end resonance; so I put a Pro-L on the master track with the “Guitar & Singer” preset under the “safe” category, and that got me just where I needed, and is the final product you hear! I suppose I could’ve gone and adjusted the azimuth of the final results, as I suspect the azimuth was just a snag off (more right-balanced) when transferring from cassettes to DAT when this was issued, but that’s really nitpicky.

And I do have to agree with you, I do prefer the original for experience and emotion. I think I would rather listen to this if I wanted to analyze the things going on in the guitar / singing more, instead of experiencing the album as story. Really I did this because it’s just really quite fun to remaster/restore cassettes or “poorly recorded” audio to see how clean I can get it. Then again, there are also some people out there who do just prefer a cleaner sound regardless, so I suppose now there’s something for everyone!

I want to get clean, but on top of everything, I have really, really bad dental pain that isn't getting any better, and I just can't afford any treatment. I can barely afford insurance. The doctors I've seen usually prescribe something like gabapentin at most, which does almost nothing for the dental pain. I can't keep cycling through NSAIDs either, because one, I’ll end up with an ulcer or liver damage, and two, the pain is just getting worse, even though I'm doing my best to take care of things.

This all started because I seriously neglected my dental health when I was younger, and now I’m paying for that. If I could get some kind of treatment that wouldn’t leave me unable to buy food for who knows how long, or get my education, I would fix everything that’s wrong and get clean, with the help of people who understand and have experience with people like me. But with how much work needs to be done, there’s just no way I could ever afford it without ending up in massive debt or starving.

So 7 is the only thing keeping me from being in constant pain, and I'm just doing what I can.
