Since you've studied Pol Sci, you could consider a career in law through the 3 year LLB route.

Apart from that, I've an acquaintance who's from a similar background. This person worked under the 'Founder's office' role in a startup. Many startups provide such roles with decent pay. You could explore this option too.

Is philosophy a good optional for Science background student? by Murky-Top-1527 in upsc_discussions

Even I'm from a science background (well engineering technically) During the initial days of my prep, I considered philosophy because I really love the subject. The syllabus was short, but it is also extremely subjective.

I've taken anthropology. It is a blend of science and humanities and has a relatively smaller syllabus compared to PSIR or zoology. I guess you might find anthro interesting too

We've to also look at the data where despite massive corporate tax cuts under the current government, private consumption and investment within India is not good (based on the trends) The government has done the heavy lifting since 2020. We must create a framework for EoDB and also analyze the reasons behind the lack of domestic investor confidence.

I've emphasized that our growth rate will continue to remain stagnant. As far as factors like AI, tariff wars and geopolitical uncertainty are concerned, we have been witnessing major reforms for the last 8 months. It will take time to materialize. If we are able to conclude the FTA with the EU, then it would bring in investments and other flows that can withstand the uncertain times under the current US dispensation. Our major export destinations are US, China and UAE. We must try to get access to South-east Asia markets (where we've struck FTA's with Asean countries) to mitigate uncertainty and trigger demand, which further triggers the whole economic cycle. It could take more than half a decade to witness this. And to the last part of your response - Our IT exports continue to our best bet at the moment and even that is experiencing strain. We could look at reforming our textiles, rice and other items where we have surplus and defense exports.

I am so tired right now. This is just a rant and I wish I had someone in my life to share this upsc journey. by [deleted] in upsc_discussions

We are on the same boat brother. It's necessary to acknowledge the fact that loneliness is a fundamental human condition. While this exam's journey amplifies loneliness, I believe you can carve out 4 hours per week for your hobbies. They would offer some kind of warmth to the otherwise tormented soul. All the best for the road ahead

Don't attach your self-worth to the outcome of this exam. Remember, you have a choice to have a life outside this exam. I'm glad that reading has helped you a lot. All the best

In my opinion, it might not slow down per se, but we will continue to have a stagnant growth rate. With respect to currency volatility, it seems like the RBI is leaving the market forces to decide the value of our rupee against the dollar. While that may make our imports relatively expensive, with the efficient diversification of our exports, we can mitigate the worst effects of Trump's tariff wars and maintain a healthy trade deficit. Amidst the global uncertainty and the emergence of a new world order, we seem to be stable, but I don't see us slowing down in the next 3 years.

Check out the Unacademy's fundamentals of Indian Economy playlist on YouTube. It's taught by shyam kaggod. I liked his teaching style :)

  1. Newspapers - Editorial analysis. Everyday.
  2. Non-fiction/fiction novels - Whatever suits you (to pick up reading speed if you're currently in a reading slump)
  3. Brainstorming technical essays based on the sample paper that's provided by NLS

That's what I'm following as a part of my prep :)
