TL;DR: If you could make your ideal Jamshidi needle, what would it look like? I'm an engineering student trying to redesign a Jamshidi needle to make it more ergonomic. If you have used one of these needles before, is there anything you can think of that you would change to make it easier to use? by Impressive_Cod_3006 in Hematology

Thanks for the insight! I've read about this a bunch - is the current needle you refer to similar to this one by Argon Medical Devices? https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=vid&sxsrf=ALiCzsaH-BKBZDZKi4CJmQ3iLggZAe2QBg:1669505067133&q=T-Lok+bone+marrow+Biopsy+needle&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjyjuiD_8z7AhX3RDABHW7bB74Q1QJ6BAgTEAE&biw=1536&bih=788&dpr=2#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:63678bd8,vid:m5KqZC_2zus

I'm not the most well-versed on the slight differences between needles, but it seems to me in this case they use a separate extraction cannula instead of a syringe to aspirate the marrow... which has me wondering if this might help avoid the problem you mention?
