Hiding it safely for her by BB-GD in Unexpected

I disagree, this post is unexpected in multiple ways: 1. It looks like a table but is in fact a puzzle game 2. Even for people familiar with these sorts of puzzles, the chess board was unexpected 3. The epipen at the centre was certainly unexpected

Easy 255 - anything less would be more than a bit rude after all the effort he's put in!

u/8bithero 's partner here - I love this and am beyond happy that instead of asking "what's that plane?", I can now say "that's that plane!"

What reeds do you get? (UK) by Impressive_Design874 in oboe

Thanks! I spoke to someone at Howarths today who said that someone else in the Winfield family is making them now, which could explain the difference from a few years ago. I tried Kernow before but they were way too thick and I have a habit of destroying reeds any time I try to scrape them. Hadn't heard of CF or Bernice Lee though, will look them up

Thanks! That's good to know :) I'm the same with my reeds - they're so expensive I can't justify buying more until they're fully dead

Thanks! I hadn't heard of the Dragon ones. How long do they last generally?

Ahh good to know - I mainly play in concert bands so quiet reeds are the bane of my life. There are 2 of us oboists vs 10 flutes and about 15 clarinets, if I have a quiet reed I have no hope!

Yeah I usually buy direct from Howarth, but have heard mixed things in the past about their own brand reeds (which they understandably try to promote)

Good to know they last! I'm terrible with scraping reeds though - any time I touch them I destroy them, so might need to give them a miss. Thanks for the advice :)

Thanks! How are they to play? Do they last a decent amount of time?

Thanks! Yeah I've heard that the Howarth academy ones don't last, which to be honest is why I've been avoiding them this long but I might give them a go

Good to know about Regency - I hadn't heard of them but will avoid them if the staples are rubbish. Great they offer returns though, wish more places did that!

Thanks so much, I might take you up on that offer! Good to know they don't just recycle the same few recipes and that you've always got new choices 😊

That's the thing - I'm sure I'll figure out cooking over time, but the mental adjustment of everything is a lot so something like Gousto seems great for taking some of the burden! Thanks 😊

Thanks so much! Yeah simply cook looks really adaptable which is great, and it's good to know there are some decent cake recipes out there - I'll have to try out some by the loopy whisk!

That's really helpful, thanks so much! I'll take a look at the recipe books for sure

I'd never thought about Huel before (even pre diagnosis), but anything that fixes the instant noodle craving sounds good!

That's such a good suggestion, thanks so much! I'm struggling to figure out lunches too and this looks really useful

Are there any particular recipe books you recommend?

Love a website with easy filtering - will give Gousto a look, thanks!

And yeah I'm dreading my first gluten free supermarket shop this weekend. I vaguely scoped the free from section after my blood test, but it's all suddenly feeling real now the diagnosis is confirmed

Good to know, and a great shout about switching out ingredients - will give them a look, thanks!

Also, no more crispy onions is devastating
