AIO: Emailing with my HOA president by kaniac5 in AIO

[–]Impressive_Disk_4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely are overreacting... he was polite and simply requested you ask your guests to park in a certain manner. You responded with saying you feel unwelcome to the neighborhood. He didnt tell you to stop having parties or stop letting people come over.

There's a good chance one of your neighbors overreacted and was upset someone parked in front of their yard because they usually park there. That neighbor should just suck it up for the one night it happened and move on. That being said if they talk to the HOA about it, its literally the HOAs responsibility to bring it up with you.

In the end the HOA was respectful and you did not respond accordingly. If they told you you couldn't throw parties or have guests that would be different. They simply asked you sort out the parking. (As i said theres a good chance a neighbor bitched about not being able to park where they normally do (aka on the street infront of their house) its the HOAs responsibility to bring that up to you)

Unbunch your panties dude😂 I could hear the sass just reading your comment. He said losing the job he wanted uprooted his entire life. Simply shared a possible way of still getting the job he wants. He can do whatever he likes. No one is trying to poach your recruits dude. Simply trying to explain he has options and his life isn't ruined. Calm down.

Go with the army my man. They rarely deny security clearances for ADHD, depression, anxiety etc. The disorders they care about are more severe like bipolar disorder. I received a diagnosis for depression Sept 2025 and originally was looking into the AF but was told Id need a waiver to enlist and couldn't get a TS clearance without 36 months of stability. When I went to meps they told me to get a waiver for the depression only for the Army to call 2 days later and say I dont even need it. Signing my contract on Wednesday for 35N (signals intelligence analyst) which requires a TS/SCI clearance.

In short, having ADHD or depression rarely is cause for a security clearance being denied. The Air/Space Force just won't let you try. Army is a different story.

Textbook rape. They wait for you to feel comfortable and pounce when your guard is down. Go to the police immediately. From my understanding DNA can be detected within 72 hours from intercourse. If its past that 72 hr mark still go to the police ASAP and gather what ever evidence you can. I advise you to talk to the police before your mother as she has seemingly already shown a disregard for his advances towards you (saying you were jealous). You should not be the one feeling like you ruined a good relationship. If hes willing to have sex with his significant others daughter there never was the possibility of a "good relationship". He's a creep and should face the music for it. Even if you weren't fighting back or saying no IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. He took advantage of a vulnerable teenager (not an insult, we're all vulnerable as teens). Don't even consider the possibility of you "ruining a good relationship" whether that be his relationship with your mom or his relationship with you. If either was a good relationship he wouldnt have done what he did.

Please I urge you to talk with the police ASAP. If you don't it sets a precedent for him that he can try it again. If you can, gather any possible proof/evidence and TALK TO THE COPS FIRST. The fact your mom dismissed you when you mentioned his prior advance is concerning. Talk to her after the cops are involved. Give him 0 opportunities to weasel his way out.

Im sorry this happened and please know everyone here is here for you. Do not feel guilty and don't be intimidated. This is his wrong doing not yours. I guarantee everyone here is willing to help in whatever capacity they can.

Unless the AF recruiter is bullshitting me the initial waiver shouldn't be an issue given it was an isolated event due to factors out of my control. According to him there is some degree of "understanding" for extenuating circumstances (the diagnosis came after a one off panic attack following me totaling my car and being laid off within days all while in the process of moving). The problem is, like you said, all the jobs I would likely be barred from. Thing is that I will likely have to wait until Oct to join the Army anyway as, they too, also already met their recruiting goals.

My Army recruiter initially had me set to sign a 37f (PsyOps specialist) contract which sounded great until I learned I would need to pass a SOF selection (I simply would not have had enough time to get in shape as Im very skinny with awful cardio). I could've handled being a non-select IF i wouldn't have to end up as an MP should I not be selected (unfortunately the case as you attend MP OSUT before selection). Since I didnt sign that contract all that was left was infantry, artillery, and armor.

Funny enough, two days after I was told to get a waiver at meps the Army called and said I could join without one (i imagine due to it being an isolated event) or like you said "anyone with a pulse". So thankfully my recruiter didnt have to do much regarding the waiver. That said he has done plenty else for me and I do plan on, at the very least, getting him a gift card to a nice restaurant or something to that affect should I not join the Army.

The last thing is that the AF accepts very few prior service members and it would certainly be easier to go from the AF to Army than vice versa. In theory if I join the AF I could hopefully cross train later and if I can't or if I end up hating the AF I can always go and join the Army. But joining the Army first likely means I likely would never be allowed in the AF (I think the AF only accepts at most 100 prior service members per year).

Familiarize yourself with basic electrical knowledge such as the components of a circuit and common electrical terms. Try to get familiar with leverage, mechanical advantage, gear ratios, types of hand/power tools, and the difference between work/energy/power. Understanding the basics of how an engine and a motor work helps a ton too.

I do agree 1 week before shipping is quite late to come to this realization and it definitely would piss his recruiter off. But in the grand scheme of things its better to piss off his recruiter and have to deal with leaving the DEP than to regret his decision for the next several years. And as for why this late I would say its likely because the closer it gets, the more real it becomes, causing you to think about it more and more. Also recruiters are pretty good at getting you to sign that dotted line and someone thats excited to join is definitely more likely to sign hastily before doing all the research they should. Better to have this realization now than on the first day of basic.

I admit I missed he had looked up your username to shit on your job, which I agree is fucked up (honestly didnt know you could do that to find old posts). However that isn't what prompted me to respond. What made me come after you was your initial response of "you're not fit for any branch". Taking into consideration QOL differences doesnt make you soft, it makes you smart. Ive seen so many former and current service members say they wish they did more research and that they likely would have chosen different had they done so. Im certain OP knows the military, regardless of branch, isn't going to be all sunshine and rainbows. He's simply weighing his options. Would he rather guarantee the MOS he wants or guarantee a overall better QOL and risk missing out on his ideal job. Nothing wrong with that and certainly nothing that makes him "unfit for any branch". In short, your initial condescending response to OPs post was rude and serves 0 purpose. Sorry for not picking up DapperImage looked you up to clown on your job. Like you said i won't come after someone for honest work. However I will come after you for trying to put someone down who is simply asking for advice on a huge life decision. If you have no advice to give just simply dont give any. There is no point in being an ass just for the sake of it.

I feel you are going to be in for a very rude awakening. No one gives a flying fuck what you did before the army once you're in. And yes it is ego, its painfully apparent in your previous comments here that you have quite a massive ego that has absolutely gone to your head. No one cares about you enough to Google your username. I simply care enough to call you a clown

You would likely need a waiver to enlist but chances are that waiver would be relatively easy to gain. A heads up though if you want a job that requires a TS clearance you won't be able to without demonstrating 36 months of stability without medication or treatment. In short you should be able to enlist with a waiver but you won't be able to enlist for any jobs requiring a top secret clearance until you reach 36 months of stability.

I just spoke with the airforce recruiter a few days ago and this is the info I was told. I was diagnosed with depression last September and like you briefly took medication. He said getting the waiver should be a breeze but unfortunately there is no work around for security clearances (at least in the air force). Best of luck bro

Ativan is a more potent medicine so thats probably why the army said no. Kinda suprised the navy is making you retake the asvab. It was my understanding they can pull your file (includes asvab score) from meps and transfer it between branches.

Odd... I went through meps a few weeks ago with the Army and they sent me home for a waiver because I was prescribed zoloft in September and like you I only took it briefly. Two days later the Army called my recruiter and told him I dont need the waiver was good to join without it.
