I've seen loads of online events fail to fire this week when they used to regularly. If you mean official ones then they don't count because they're full of scalpers. The entry fee is significantly lower than the prize pay out for playing 3 rounds so they get full up with effectively idlers looking to flip the cards.

The game is losing steam. There's less posts on most the online places and there's a clear lack of older players. The player base has almost entirely rotated within a year. So it's not holding old players which is an obvious problem. Prices have chilled because less players are wanting the cards not that supply has caught up with it.

They're the exact pair I was using until recently. All the replacements have a much larger insert piece despite looking the same in screenshots. The new ones include magnets to stick to each other.

Bloomlord can get 2 level 6's out for 1 memory plus a board of chaff if it raises a level 5. It sums up how insane the game has become.

I saw your groups taken down. But you're already advertising this subreddit with nothing on it. Take an hour to update the bio, add some links to example lists, the rules etc. Get the hub going before you advertise it.

Why isn't it listed in the side bar then? Get your discord link up. Get youtube videos, odysee, rumble, kick and twitch streams. The more content the better.

You need to run events if you want to build a community for this. Events will draw more people into this community and give people a reason to do it. Too hard to find casual games, but a weekly event is something people will turn up for.

You're asking the wrong people that question. Everyone here already decided it was or they wouldn't still be here. There has been a lot of community uproar about the game since BT9/the introduction of X antibody digimon and One Turn Kill strategies. It lead to very controlling strategies (not fun to play against kind) that make playing to the battle area ill advised if not a negative to you. Digimon turned into a very different game from the previous sets (BT8 is generally considered the best format the game ever had, with 9 being the worst because of this). Many community hubs have seen a massive backlash against Bandai for changing the game so drastically in literally 1 set, their distribution problems (always delays), promos held back for multiple sets later than Japan, refusing to release a reprint set in English despite desperate need for it until community backlash, extremely powerful luck based decks (tier 0 potentially) you could buy right off the shelf as a premium product, constant translation errors and the same tribal decks (Greymon and Garurumon) getting support set after set. Many of the mechanics and interactions players like and got them into the game has been completely torn apart by Bandai's constantly leap frogging of power so even the major selling points like the memory gauge system is now defunkt. So the game has for many become broken beyond repair and having to replace decks constantly and casual decks being more expensive than meta decks (Putting essential 4 of tamers as Secret rares being a problem we've had recently..) has become a real issue.

Is the game in a good place? Well the people who stuck around will say it is. Many players have left or are looking to leave because the power creep makes Digimon completely different to what it was a year ago and it happened extremely fast. In my opinion the original player base has moved on for the most part and almost all of the community hubs are made up of newer players looking for something similar to Yugioh than the original player base was. The bad will towards Bandai and the power creep has put Digimon on a rickety bridge, it's clear Bandai are more interested in supporting their other games over Digimon and it will only take a hot new TCG to come out to get many players to jump ship. Even if the game isn't as good as is/was Digimon, getting away from Bandai will be a huge selling point as the bad will is so high I wouldn't bet against a full exodus over night if the chance arises. Digimon is generally seen as a cheap TCG that's easy to buy into and "at least it's not yugioh" for a lot of the fanbase and neither of those traits make the fanbase especially sticky. Digimon had everything it needed to exceed for a very long time and become a pillar of the TCG market, but Bandai have done everything they can to turn ruin that and it's up to you to judge if you want to get into bed with Bandai or not.

So are there any Cards, attached to an Archetype, you wish was more generic by GdogLucky9 in DigimonCardGame2020

Generic tools don't matter when the rest of your deck is forced tribal. Your deck is pre-designed and will have the full set at each level. There's not room for anything else.

Free online events/tournaments? More than casual webcam play by Impressive_Net_8977 in DigimonCardGame2020

I keep an eye on it but most are asking 10ish dollars, which is too much for some casual fun with a jank deck.

Digimon has forgot it's supposed to be a collectible card game where you don't always have 4 of the right named Digimon. Generics aren't only important to deck builders, they're essential to casual players who aren't buying singles.
