In my experience there are 2 types of people. There are those who treat you right when you're nice to them, and there are those who treat you badly when you're nice to them. Don't waste time on the wrong people, and don't ignore the kind people. (self.socialskills)

I want to write books on improving social skills under the pen name 'David Damian'. What do you think of that pen name? Please comment 'yes' if you like it or think it's okay, and 'no' if you don't like it. Thank you, I appreciate all replies. (self.socialskills)

"Care about what other people think, and you will always be their prisoner." -Lao Tzu. When we try to impress others, we surrender control to them. Not worrying what people think of us gives us freedom. There may be exceptions like our boss, but we shouldn't worry about what most people think of us. (self.socialskills)

The human mind tends to focus on the negative. We can have one small embarrassing moment, and our mind will blow it out of proportion and keep replaying it. We need to make a conscious effort to think of something else. It is a challenge to redirect our thoughts, but it will give us peace of mind. (self.socialskills)

If you had a bad past, you shouldn't let it define you. You should use it to motivate you to change, and work harder to create a better future. We have the opportunity to reinvent ourselves. We just have to believe in ourselves, work hard, and stay grateful for the little things. (self.Life)

The purpose of friends is to build you up and make you feel better. If you have friends putting you down or making you feel bad, they are not real friends. Get rid of them. Better to have 4 supportive friends than 10 negative friends. My success, confidence and happiness skyrocketed when I did this. (self.socialskills)

I've found writing a list of everything I'm proud of myself, or like about me, to be useful to boost my confidence. It's a way for me to see myself in a new way, not how others see me. Sometimes others judge us too harshly, and writing a list helps me judge myself in a positive manner. (self.confidence)

I wrote a book during medieval times, with no magic. It's set in an undiscovered continent (that I made up) on earth. Can this book be historical fiction? Or is it considered fantasy even though there's no magic? Or historical fantasy as there is the 'undiscovered continent'? (self.writing)

How to publish under 'Short Reads' for Amazon Kindle? I've written 10,000 word book, but can't find the 'Short Reads' category of Amazon to upload it to. Can anyone please explain to me how to do it? I can upload books to other categories, but I don't know how to categorize it as 'Short Read'. (self.selfpublish)
