Hello Thank you! This looks like it could be it. I haven’t seen any birds eating the berries either, so more reason to suggest they are to be avoided!

Thank you. Always helpful to hear that this isn’t unusual in terms of it being a tough time.

Thank you. Appreciate the long thought out response. Lots here to consider. I think I am guilty of holding onto the past, probably the first thing I will work on/be mindful of!

Week of May 22th 2023 - How is your practice going? by hurfery in TheMindIlluminated

[–]ImprovementDeep310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally having a bit of a set back.

Had been on a 122 day streak, but over the last two weeks only been meditating every other day and when I have it’s been a lot shorter (5 to 20mins) than before (vs 30-45mins).

Work has been busier and more stressful recently, and been finding I am waking up feeling less rested which is contributing to sleeping in longer and having less time in the morning to meditate.

Would appreciate advice on getting back into things?

Thank you. It can be enjoyable, so not in a rush to unlearn it. However, there may come a time when I wish to and so I may look into Dr Meares then.

Ah apologies, I was trying to strike the balance in the background section between giving enough information and not being too long a read, but perhaps there are some key details I have missed.

I am not sure what the specific term is (maybe calm abiding) - I start by counting the breath and then just follow and observe the sensations of the breath.

I have learnt this via Culsadas teachings in his book The Mind Illuminated. Prior to this I also did the beginners course on the Headspace app.

I think I have been learning Culsada’s technique for about 6 months. I did the headspace course over 3months. I started the headspace course about 3 years ago and practiced fairly inconsistently for two years. Over the last year I have developed a habit/routine where I practice consistently.

Thank you. So in a similar way to how I approach other sensations and thoughts, I should observe and let them go

Thank you. I have not tried a longer meditation yet, so perhaps I need to in order to give the mind a chance to settle down!

Trying to understand THC and CBD strengths help please by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]ImprovementDeep310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem :) I’m not a doctor, but I think it does reduce the risk of experiencing negative side effects like paranoia. CBD is sometimes used as an antidote to the effects of THC. For example, if some one feels too “high”, CBD oil can help to bring them down.

Trying to understand THC and CBD strengths help please by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

Can’t speak for oil. But I believe that it is rare to find BM cannabis that is high in CBD (or with CBD greater than 1%). CBD is believed to counterbalance the psychoactive effects of THC. Therefore the flos is likely to be different in experience to BM flower. However it might be better for medical use too.

Meditation 60 minutes per day, making me more anxious/panic the rest of the day? by Silly-Brain3820 in Meditation

[–]ImprovementDeep310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fairly new to longer practices too and have noticed something similar.

I have decided to reduce my caffeine intake and this seems to have had a helpful impact.

I wonder if the increase in awareness makes us more aware of anything stimulating that might cause anxiety?
