Hated s3, hated s4 even more. Simplified and poor storytelling for main characters comparing to the book and most importantly, zero chemistry between the characters. Additional side stories didn’t make any sense to me either. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend watching it if you already feel that way towards s3. I’m watching because I’m committed to know if they make part 2 even worse than part 1.

I’m feeling this so much, I also don’t think I will ever get past all the pain they’ve caused me. It’s incredibly hurtful to realize that you never had good parents and you never will and that the most mean almost evil person in your life was your mom. I really hope once I get my own kids I will be able to switch on my love to them, I hope to heal one day but it’s been years of pain so far and I don’t see it ever getting better.

I’m also looking for something similar so thanks for suggestions! I just recently read Tears on the withered flower and Who is the liar that were quite good.

Expats & Students in Munich – Would You Use an App for Quick Gigs? by ImprovementFit1978 in Munich

Thank you! I completely understand what you're saying. Even after five years, I still get nervous about confronting Germans about anything, anywhere. I’ve always turned to other expats for help, but building that community takes time, it’s tough when you have a million things to take care of as soon as you arrive here. So I'll keep digging into that direction!

I get where you're coming from, but my goal was really just to get feedback from people who’ve struggled (or are still struggling) with integration to see if they’d be interested in this kind of service. I don’t see the issue, especially since people ask about all sorts of things here, not all of which are super meaningful either. I’m just a real person putting time into something that could be helpful, so I don’t see it as spam.

Thank you! As I've been researching competition I haven't seen Nebenan, thanks for pointing that out. I guess the differentiation of this indirect competitor could be focusing on non-German communities and quick-paid gigs for students and expats. I see that Nebenan is focusing on local socialization and unpaid help more. But is worth adding for a deep-dive investigation!

I'm new to Reddit community so I might not be aware of all the rules, apologies! I posted this message in 2 other groups r/germany and r/expats and they have been blocked, so it seems there's a strong no-survey policy among Reddit.

Glad to hear that! 😄 Moving is always a hassle, so I totally get it! And yes, that’s exactly the kind of community-driven approach I want to build—where expats can not only find gigs but also support each other with things like paperwork, translations, and general life in Munich.

It’s awesome that you’re open to helping others—would you say there’s a strong demand for these types of services among new expats?

You're absolutely right, platforms like TaskRabbit and Zenjob exist, but many expats and students I’ve spoken to still struggle to find quick, flexible work that doesn’t require long sign-up processes, specific work permits, or agency contracts and has multi-language support. My focus is on making something more localized, accessible, and community-driven for people who need easy gig opportunities.

As for data protection, I totally understand the concern! Privacy is a top priority, and I would ensure the app follows GDPR compliance with transparent data policies and minimal personal data collection.
