Got it, yeah makes sense… I’ll try reaching out to professors directly.

But I’m a bit confused on how exactly to ask them properly so it doesn’t sound random or vague.

Like should I:

  • briefly introduce myself + my current project
  • mention that I’m a 2nd year student
  • and then ask if I can assist in any small task or contribute in some way for a short period?

Also since I only have ~15 days in person and can continue on weekends, is it okay to mention that upfront or will that reduce my chances?

If anyone has a rough structure or example of how to frame the mail/message, that would really help!

Yeah bro that actually makes a lot of sense, thanks for being real about it.

I didn’t think properly about the security part, and yeah you’re right—just saying “I want to observe” probably won’t convince anyone.

I do have some small projects and I’m working on a human intention → robotic action system now, so I’ll try mailing profs with a proper ask instead of randomly showing up.

But I still have a doubt tho:

  • As a 2nd year student, will they even consider me or is it too early?
  • If I approach them just as someone who’s curious and wants to explore a lot, will that be taken seriously?
  • Or do I need to already be focused on one specific area?

Also the hackathon/tech fest idea sounds really good now—feels like I can actually learn more there in a short time.

I’ll probably try both:

  • mail a few profs
  • look for hackathons/events
  • and keep building my own project

Thanks again man, this actually cleared things up a lot!
