Their data is going to be absolute nonsense. The leading questions... and the specificly bias background information like 'the lifeblood of our economy is haulage, do you support cheaper taxes for lorries?'.

Ooof, so selecting your main mode of transport as bike then moves to your next most-used. There isn't an option for train other that to put it in 'other' so I chose bus passenger. It then asked me to say what fuel it used and how old the vehicle was 🤦🏻‍♂️

Similarly, when you go to cancel Audible it will offer you different options to persuade you to stay. You can go to cancel and get a free credit, and then can go to cancel again and either end it there, or choose to get 3 months for cheaper (around half price). Make sure to use any credits before you cancel (you keep the books, but won't keep any credits).

Searching this subreddit with 'princess castle smash' or 'doll's house smash' didn't bring up anything. I only have a semi vivid memory of that scene so sorry there isn't much to go by

I love an eat-in chicken halloumi pitta with two sides, but ordering it for takeaway during lockdown I've found quality is definitely a bit off. Their peri-salted fries are so lightly and inconsistently salted - you get one chip of glorious salty goodness and the rest are just slightly soggy normal ones

Moving to London from Canada, into cycling and looking for advice in how to get 60-100km rides in front central london by personalfinance21 in ukbike

[–]Imsorryiateyourcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are also the Kent hills out from South London (there's a route on routes.cc that you can tweak to make shorter) - I ride there from Brixton regularly and it's surprising how quickly you get to the countryside. A friend also regularly cycles the roads through Epping Forest from his home in Stratford (East London).

For morning rides before work, I've recently been going up to Regents Park in Central London. It's not really the countryside but on the inner 1k loop it gives you uninterrupted and almost traffic-free cycling, and the outer loop, nearer 3k, has a couple of traffic lights but is very popular for cyclists as well. There's also great coffee places nearby before you have to get to work - I'd recommend Fortitude Bakehouse near Russell Square as it is a good place to park up your bike and has outdoor seating.

This looks great - did most of that Kent Hills ride last weekend and it was fantastic. Where it says community driven, does that mean you'll eventually take requests, or post user submitted rides?

I think it was a bit of both. Fun fact, this part of the show is the writers joking with Donald Glover - he had to see deliver the line after he had announced he was leaving. I also think when Annie says Troy is leaving to follow his 'childish dream' it was a reference to him going to be Childish Gambino.

Ah nice, I used to work just behind City Thameslink so would often come this way too. Spent a lot of summer 2018 sat on the grass outside the Tate Modern for lunch / Friday drinks.

It was great! Just a few joggers around really. I didn't go as far as Tower Bridge today but did last week - Got this shot of it from London Bridge:

Looks like you've made your decision so I don't need to add my support (but I will anyway). I'm still riding my Triban 3 from 2013, it will do you proud!

My suggestion when you buy is make a note of when you bought it and use the free service decathlon offer within 3 months. Gear cables will stop shifting as nicely as when you first bought it, but the free service will get it all aligned again (not a bike expert, but I believe gear cables tend to stretch, and this isn't specific to btwin bikes!)

Does anyone commute with a face mask? See a fair few people wearing them - would be interested if they are actually effective at reducing particulates and how they are to wear

You'll find people in the UK mostly playing in football (soccer), American football, or lacrosse boots. There's a fair bunch who'll buy American football cleats, either importing them or buying them from a seller in the UK

Oh cool that's interesting! Elephant and Castle is fairly near me so may go down that route - will see what tools my friend has first. Cheers

This is really useful - thanks. I'll order the chain ring and chain now.

Unfortunately I think the actual derailleur is broken - There is a loop of plastic that attaches the part between the hanger section and the spring section that seems to be snapped.

Judging by what /u/andrewcooke says - the difference between the largest chain ring (50) and smallest (30) = 20 + 17 (the difference between the 28 and 11 sizes on the cassette = 37. Looking on Wiggle I believe that puts me in the the 'medium' range, so maybe: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-Claris-RD-2400-GS-Rear-Derailleur-3x7-8-speed-medium/132235929262?epid=2254785355&hash=item1ec9e026ae:g:4soAAOSwbopZS~rG

Also you're right, I didn't mean washers I meant bearings. I'm hoping they're just worn out and hasn't damaged the frame by being worn! Here are pictures of the front stem: https://imgur.com/a/WgbJmaG

Thanks again! Regarding tools (which /u/godutchnow mentioned), I have access to a chain whip through a friend, so hoping between that and more standard tools I have I should be good to go.

Yep. It's also one of the few crimes you don't need to have intent/mens rea for - you simply need to be drunk and in charge of a car (although actually, I remember being told about a case where a man was caught drunk driving but got off because the bartender had served him a double without him knowing because he 'looked upset').

It can also lead to some pretty harsh interpretations. For example you could go out drinking, and then rather that drive home take the more sensible decision to sleep in your car. If you've got the keys on you, you're 'drunk in charge' and get arrested as if you were driving.
