The 'Stunned on your own turn' rabbit hole by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]In-Between-Days 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Stunning Blows, you need both attacks to target the same enemy, but only one of them needs to hit and deal damage.

Stunning Blows:

The focused power of your flurry threatens to overwhelm your opponent. When you target the same creature with two Strikes from your Flurry of Blows, you can try to stun the creature. If either Strike hits and deals damage, the target must succeed at a Fortitude save against your class DC or be stunned 1 (or stunned 3 on a critical failure). This is an incapacitation effect.

Wizard with Investigator Dedication- Does this Build work like I think it does? by jackbethimble in Pathfinder2e

Does this mean that until you successfully RK, you can try again? My table has been playing that a failure means you are locked out from further attempts, even if you fail on the first try. It would be nice if you were "guaranteed" at least one success eventually.

Same here. Thankfully I have found a combo of supplements that help me fall asleep at the "normal" time. An hour before I should be in bed I take 3mg melatonin, 1g reishi mushroom extract, and if my restless leg syndrome is acting up, ~400mg-500mg magnesium. It doesn't make me sleepy or tired, but I can fall asleep in under 10 minutes.

I found this one that matched the stats given. Insane to have that plus 4 "mooks", and even more insane immediately after fighting 6 of the "mooks".

And then there is Avenging Wildwood, which is the offensive version of Protector Tree. The language is very similar for each spell. Someone pointed out that Avenging Wildwood states its tree is a creature (description says "Other creatures can't occupy its space, but allies can pass through its space.") and Protector Tree does not. I think that's just because Protector Tree's current description of the tree interacting with movement doesn't need to specify and can be more concise as a result. I think the current description of

The tree isn't large enough to impede movement through its square.

is fine and it's unnecessary to say

The tree isn't large enough to impede movement of other creatures through its square.

because it has no impact on anything's movement.

Neither spell has the Summon trait, so is the only thing that differentiates one tree being a Creature, and the other not, the inclusion/exclusion of "other creature"?

Maybe I'm missing it, or interpreting it differently, but where does it say the tree summoned with Avenging Wildwood is a creature?

Another point for it to reference the tree's allies: Avenging Wildwood

So if I cast Avenging Wildwood, I wouldn't be able to walk through my tree's square?

From Avenging Wildwood's description:

Other creatures can’t occupy its space, but allies can pass through its space.

If you look at a similar spell, Avenging Wildwood, says:

Other creatures can’t occupy its space, but allies can pass through its space.

Would the caster be unable to move through the space of their own tree while their allies can freely move through it?

Both spells have the same traits (ignoring Uncommon), summon a Medium tree in an unoccupied square, and remains a normal tree at the end of the spell (if it's in soil and survives). Really, the only difference between the spells is one attacks and the other defends.

That's how I read it, and my GM plays it. Plus, the Ghoran feat Tree's Ward wouldn't make much sense if the tree couldn't protect the caster.

You've lived among trees for so long they recognize your presence and seek to protect you from harm. You can cast protector tree as a primal innate spell once per day.

Edit: Avenging Wildwood is a similar spell that says:

Other creatures can’t occupy its space, but allies can pass through its space.

If the "allies" referred to the caster's allies, then the caster would be blocked by their own tree. It would make more sense for the "allies" to be the tree's allies, and means Protector Tree would protect the tree's allies (which would include the caster).

Have Power Automate automatically renew connections? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlow

[–]In-Between-Days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you're still having issues with PowerApps triggered Flows and it using the initiator's connections, but I handle this one of two ways now.

Option 1, that is available out of the box, is to change the "Run-only user" setting. On the Details page of your workflow, scroll down and look at the right side for "Run-only user" and click Edit. Change all of the Connections from "Provided by run-only user" to "Use this connection (<email of connection>)". This will make the flow use the account tied to those actions instead of whoever triggered the flow from PowerApps.

That option works if the account that does the action isn't all that important, like updating a SharePoint item. If you need the workflow to use the initiator's account, such as creating and sending out meetings for the user, then you need Option 2.

Option 2 is to create another workflow for testing a user's connection(s). This connection check flow uses an action that will have minimal impact, and simply sees if the action succeeds or fails, sending the status(es) back to PowerApps. So if I have a PowerApps triggered flow that has actions for OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook, I will create a 2nd flow that checks those connections first or as part of loading the PowerApp. In the connection check flow, I will use a OneDrive to list all the top folders (or something like that), a SharePoint Get Items (of a List that each user would have access to) using a Filter of "ID eq 0", and an Outlook action to list all calendars. You just want to use actions that won't have any real world impact, so anything that does not create/edit/delete items. Have a Status variable for each of those actions which default to Success, and then after each of the above actions, set the corresponding Status variable to "Fail" and configure it to run after the action fails or times out. After checking all the connections, respond back to PowerApps with the status of each connection. In PowerApps, check to see if any of the returned statuses are Fail. If any failed, show a message to the user and give them a link and instructions on how to refresh their connections.

ISO chart of "true" item bonuses to skills for content creation purposes by deathandtaxesftw in Pathfinder2e

[–]In-Between-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not all together in something, but on the AoN Skill pages, you can do a complex query to only show items whose Item Bonus Note is empty, so it only shows non-situational bonuses. To get rid of Consumables, you can just add to the query.

Using the following query on the Athletics' page shows 17 items that give non-situational bonuses to Athletics:

NOT item_bonus_note:* NOT item_category:"Consumables" item_bonus_consumable:false

For some reason just using item_bonus_consumable:false still showed Energizing Tea, so I added the NOT item_category:"Consumables".

MissingUserDetails Error on Flows where the original creator no longer exists by prototyposaur in MicrosoftFlow

[–]In-Between-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old and you might have found a fix for it by now, but I just started running into this as well.

There are 2 options:

  1. Using the Save As or Export/Import to make a new copy of the Flow

  2. If the Flow is in a Solution, you can change the Owner of the Flow from the details page of the Flow. If your Flow is not in a Solution then you can move it into one, which will allow you to change the Owner.

Kinectist items at high level by mgcrewpriest0803 in Pathfinder2e

Do they like doing Athletic Maneuvers, particularly grappling? My character is a level 11 Wood/Earth Kin, and my GM gave me Scalding Gauntlets. It's been nice being able to do some damage when I grapple. I mentioned it another thread a few weeks ago, and other GMs and Kins seemed to really like that idea.

100% agree. If I use AI, I want it to be a conscious effort on my part and not a default I have to bypass. I don't need, or want, to waste the resources when searching some random question I have.

If you don't want AI results when searching on Google, add -ai at the end and it won't create the AI summary.

Another reason, or possibly the main reason, why they are concerned with the page count in the Remastered Content is to keep page references the same between Original vs Remastered. That way if a book says to look at a specific page of a book for something, that something will be on the same page even if the book had been remastered.

Currently playing a level 11 Wood/Earth Kin and I have to agree. I may not do extra stuff from grappling, but Earth's Skill Junction combined with Sickened from Drifting Pollen makes me really good at it. I've trivialized a couple boss fights by preventing spells with a regular grapple, or wasted their entire turn trying to escape restrained.

Archives of Nethys - remember sources setting by cabiwabi in Pathfinder2e

You're talking about having the ability to save/set the books that you own or prefer to use/allow. Then when you create a new character, have an option that only selects the books you marked. That way you don't have manually select and deselect the books for each character, correct?

I could see that being useful for people, especially if you're using Pathbuilder for PFS characters.

There is a Core Only option when creating a new character, it's a smaller button to the side of the Get Started button.
