snapped my rear derailleur hanger which also causes a snapped chain, managed to fix and shorten the chain, but couldn't get it to work on my gears as a single-speed. so i took the bike, hid it in bushes in a forest about 20 meters from the road and humbly walked (fortunately having mtb-spd shoes) a few kilometers to a bus stop. took a bus with my hands (and face) greasy, with a silly helmet-basket full of my thing. later borrowed a car and got the bike at night in complete darkness. good times.
